It should be no secret that I'm a huge fan of Just Play Toys. Over the past few years, they've quietly built a reputation for making exceptional toys based on some fantastic licenses - many of which perfectly fit The Rock Daughters' interests (Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First, PJ Masks, Kate and Mim-Mim, etc). One of their big hits of 2016 comes from Disney Junior's THE LION GUARD, and this Friday, from 11am-12pm ET, I'm co-hosting the #JustPlayToys Twitter Party with The Toy Insider, where you'll have a shot at winning some of the hottest Lion Guard toys! RSVP here!

On Friday, November 11, 2016, join The Toy Insider for the #MaistoTECHRC Twitter Party! Five lucky winners will receive a Maisto Tech Cyklone 360, and one grand prize winner will receive a Maisto Tech Rock Crawler 3XL! The action happens on twitter from 11am-12pm Eastern Time, but you MUST RSVP AND participate in the Twitter Party to be eligible to win!* RSVP using this form. Curious what these awesome Maisto RC vehicles are all about? Check out the videos below, and join us on Friday - you could win!

PJ MASKSLast week, I was back in New York City for the unveiling of The Toy Insider's 2016 Holiday Gift Guide - a collection of 2016's hottest toys, as chosen by the editors of The Toy Insider. What's different this year is that there's a "Rock Father Pick" in the mix - one that I've chosen as a newly-minted member of The Toy Insider Parent Panel. Of the nearly 200 toys featured this year, each member of the panel was tasked with choosing their "Top Pick" (see them all here), and for me the decision was an easy one: The PJ MASKS Headquarters Playset by Just Play. Hitting stores this Fall as part of a Toys "R" Us Exclusive collection of PJ MASKS toys, I'll be going in-depth on the Headquarters right here in the virtual pages of THE ROCK FATHER™ Magazine very soon, but for now here's a sneak-preview of the PJ MASKS line as the Holiday Shopping Season officially gets underway!

In the past year or so, there's been a growing number of diecast metal figures hitting the market, each from toymakers looking to do something a bit different to stand out from the already crowded pack. Generally, when one thinks of diecast, it would be in reference to toy cars, and that category is one that the folks at Jada Toys know very well. Now they're putting their toolmaking skills to work with a new line called METALS that were once teased as being "worth the weight" - and they do have some bulk, firmly stamped as being "HEAVY." I know a thing or two about "heavy metal," so I appreciate the concept. Having tackled characters from both DC Comics and the MARVEL Universe, this summer brought a tie-in for the relaunched GHOSTBUSTERS franchise with an assortment of GHOSTBUSTERS Classics focusing on characters from Ivan Reitman's 1984 film. All four members of the crew are available, including Egon Spengler, Ray Stantz, Winston Zeddemore and Peter Venkman. Also issued were the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and a two-pack featuring a "slimed" version of Dr. Venkman alongside the famous green ghost, Slimer. The latter two arrived here for review in our Toy Testing Facility at Rock Father HQ™ in a care package from my friends at The Toy Insider. Let's take a look!

Disney•Pixar's FINDING DORY is the fourth-highest-grossing film of 2016 worldwide thus far, and with the long-awaited return to the undersea world first visited in 2003's FINDING NEMO comes a new assortment of toys and games. From Imperial Toy comes the FINDING DORY Bubble Blowin' Nemo, a simple, yet completely fun new bubble blower perfect for late summer adventure. Sent to us for review in the Toy Testing Facility at Rock Father HQ™ courtesy of The Toy Insider, this bubble blower includes a small bottle of Super Miracle Bubble Solution and a refillable tray for loading it up.
