It's almost November, and that means it's CALL OF DUTY season, folks. It's also my annual reminder that I need to upgrade from the Xbox 360 and jump into the Xbox One realm, as I completely missed-out on last year's COD due to lack of a current-gen system. With Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare hitting the streets on November 4th, the folks at Activision have taken a new approach to their traditional live-action trailer, accounting for the seemingly never-ending stream of contentious headlines that we all deal with day after day, recommending that players head to space and blow off some steam, Call of Duty style! Crank up the GUNS 'N ROSES, and let's go...

The Official Announcement:

Call of Duty®: Infinite Warfare's live-action trailer has landed. Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc., is igniting its creative and marketing campaign today with the release of the new live-action launch trailer helmed by director Peter Berg of Pony Show Entertainment and featuring cameos from world champion swimmer Michael Phelps and actor Danny McBride (Vice Principals, Eastbound & Down, Tropic Thunder). The intense :90, high-action piece is cheekily titled "Screw It, Let's Go To Space."

"If ever there was a year when people could use a break from the headlines for a little good old fashioned escapist entertainment, 2016 is it," said Tim Ellis, CMO, Activision. "‘Screw It, Let's Go To Space' captures this feeling on a global scale and transports you into the epic gameplay and settings of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. It's a thrill ride like no other, and it's coming November 4th."

This is director Peter Berg's third collaboration with Call of Duty. "Screw It, Let's Go To Space" pokes fun at the seemingly unending string of contentious news events of 2016 and offers up Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare as a much-needed escape. From businessmen to newscasters to delivery drivers to Michael Phelps and Danny McBride, everyone in the spot leaves their differences and stresses behind to blast off into space and let loose in an action-packed thrill ride of epic proportions.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare breaks new ground in storytelling, by exploring the weight of leadership and the responsibilities that come with it in an emotional, character-driven narrative. In a first for the franchise, Infinite Warfare introduces an all-new story set beyond Earth's atmosphere, delivering an incredible list of gameplay innovations, such as space dog-fighting and zero gravity action, as well as seamless transitions from experience to experience keeping players engaged in the breathtaking action. In addition to a riveting single player, story campaign, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare also delivers a robust multiplayer mode, and a unique, 1980's inspired cooperative zombies experience, "Zombies in Spaceland."

Developed by Activision's Infinity Ward, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare launches worldwide November 4. Activision is putting major marketing support behind the game with a high-impact TV, digital and outdoor advertising campaign that will run around the globe. Throughout the campaign, Activision has worked with Los Angeles, New York and Amsterdam based agency 72andSunny on overall creative direction.

November 4th marks the launch of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, releasing worldwide on the PlayStation®4 system, Xbox One and PC. The title is rated M for Mature (Blood and Gore, Drug Reference, Intense Violence, Strong Language, Suggestive Themes). The Digital Deluxe and Legacy Editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare also include Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® Remastered*, which is rated M for Mature (Blood, Intense Violence, Strong Language). Check local retailers for availability of all Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Editions.

*At launch, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will contain only 10 MP maps from the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game. All 16 original MP maps will be made available by 12/31/2016.
