It's time for a weekend edition of The Random Rock N' More, the column where the ''...for Grown-ups'' section infiltrates the normally family-friendly homepage of The Rock Father. Below you'll find updates on over 40 bands and artists - all of which have hit my inbox in the past few days. ''Random Rock'' means just that. Black Metal, indie, punk, acoustic, underground, mainstream - it's all here. ''N' More is everything else for a well-balanced musical parfait. Let's get to work.
Yo Gabba Gabba! has recently been posting some new videos online from some past episodes, and this one is too good not to share with readers of The Rock Father™. Back on March 9, 2010 (yes, two years ago today), the mighty WEEZER made an appearance on the 'Bugs' episode of Season 3 for a furry performance of a song called All My Friends Are Insects. Check out the video of the performance below, and rock out with the kids. =w=
The indie-rock elitists can ready their pitchforks and prepare to skewer me for what I'm about to say... It is in my belief that PINKERTON is not WEEZER's best album, nor is it my favorite.
If WEEZER's recent release HURLEY was supposed to be a throwback to the band's 1990's glory days, then DEATH TO FALSE METAL just might be the time machine project that inspired it.
Traditionally, WEEZER albums are at their best when they have no title and are only identified by the color of the background present on the cover. The "blue album", the "green album," the "red album." Fact is, while those might be their best, Weezer have never made a bad album.
