Since the 70s there have been numerous incarnations of KISS released as toys, from MEGO-style dolls to Pop! Vinyl, Hello Kitty, K'NEX and a full series of large scale action figures that McFarlane did awhile back. What there has never before been is proper 3 3/4" action figures - we're talking STAR WARS size, G.I. JOE size figures. Well, for 2015 it's happening with the release of KISS Alive II 3 3/4-inch scale action figures by Bif Bang Pow! This is going to be a complete set of the original members - Gene Simmons (The Demon), Paul Stanley (Starchild), Peter Criss (Catman) and Ace Frehley (Spaceman) - as they appeared during the ALIVE II era. Here's the early details...

Well this comes out of left field, yet could be a home run. Yes, I'm feeling punny tonight, but after coaching a full season of Pee Wee Baseball this year, I'm still in a sorta ballpark vibe, and when news slid into Rock Father HQ about a partnership between KISS and Major League Baseball, you can bet I was interested. Epic Rights (rep for KISS) teamed with MLP licensee Liquid Blue for a new clothing line called PLAY BALL WITH KISS. The initial run of mashup t-shirts features the iconic band as players for a dozen MLB teams, all themed around the DRESSED TO KILL album art

That said, there's a reason why METAL HAMMER is one of the last print mags standing, and they continue to show that every month. For METAL HAMMER 253, their February 2014 issue, they've taken things into STAR WARS territory, with the entire issue taking inspiration from a galaxy far, far away, starting off with a cover by SIXMOREVODKA (said to have the "blessing of LUCASFILM). The mag goes on-sale January 7 (you can order direct from their UK site), or you can subscribe via (my affiliate) Amazon, though you probably won't get this one in time. Take a peek...

Last year, legendary rockers and kings of cross-merchandising, KISS teamed up with Sanrio for a line of "KISS x Hello Kitty" products. A lot of hardcore rock fans balked at the idea, but the line was hugely successful - so much that it's spawned a new TV series that's in-development at The Hub right now. KISS Hello Kitty (working title) "will feature the four KISS x Hello Kitty characters living their rock 'n' roll dreams and bringing pink anarchy to every situation they are in.

You know what? Despite having building sets from several other makers, we have no K'NEX products here at Rock Father HQ. Personally, I'm really digging the KISS Tour Semi (the "Rock Stage Big Rig") that I'm about to show you below. The following new items will debut at Toy Fair in New York this weekend...
