I have to say, since BORDERS went out of business, I have not seen a copy of UK-based METAL HAMMER on the racks anywhere near me. That said, there's a reason why METAL HAMMER is one of the last print mags standing, and they continue to show that every month. For METAL HAMMER 253, their February 2014 issue, they've taken things into STAR WARS territory, with the entire issue taking inspiration from a galaxy far, far away, starting off with a cover by SIXMOREVODKA (said to have the "blessing of LUCASFILM). The crew over at NECA has long been providing a healthy dose of "rock" to the toy aisles with previous licenses including AC/DC and IGGY POP. Their longest-running series is that of IRON MAIDEN, and while several action figures of their iconic mascot "Eddie the Head" have been produced, there's still some ground to cover. Now, Eddie is making his way into tabletop gaming with the first series of IRON MAIDEN miniatures for HeroClix. Check 'em out below.

The next installment of the ROCK BAND franchise is totally different, and it's arriving next month in the form of ROCK BAND BLITZ. First announced on The Rock Father this past April, the game requires no special accessories or peripherals, and is playable with your regular controller. ROCK BAND BLITZ arrives on PlayStation® Network on August 28th for $14.99 and to Xbox LIVE® Arcade on August 29th for 1200 Microsoft Points™. More tracks were just announced, and the complete listing can be found below alongside the latest developer video.

It's been awhile since I've done a proper 'for grown-ups' giveaway here on The Rock Father™, but tonight that ends. You're gonna want to 'Run to the Hills' for this one, as one lucky reader is going to score the new IRON MAIDEN EN VIVO! 2DVD set, and a copy of the film's soundtrack on CD!
