If you're looking for something on the noisier side of the spectrum to kick off the week, check out "Seizure and Desist" - the new music video for the second single from the forthcoming self-titled debut from DEAD CROSS, which premiered via Loudwire. Along with the video comes the announcement that the band featuring Dave Lombardo (ex-Slayer/Suicidal Tendencies), Justin Pearson (Retox/The Locust), Mike Patton (Faith No More/Tomahawk) and Michael Crain (Retox, Festival of Dead Deer) will be joined on tour this summer by SECRET CHIEFS 3, featuring Patton's former Mr. Bungle guitarist, Trey Spruance.

When you pair my favorite vocalist of all-time, Mike Patton (Faith No More, Tomahawk, Mr. Bungle, Fantomas) with one of my favorite drummers of all-time, Dave Lombardo (ex-Slayer, Fantomas) I'm interested, and thus DEAD CROSS has been firmly on my radar. Today, the band which also features Justin Pearson (The Locust, Retox) and Michael Crain (Retox, Festival of Dead Deer) have announced their first North American tour dates.

This past Thursday night, I felt as if I were 15 again. My wife and I attended the sold-out FAITH NO MORE concert at Chicago's Concord Music Hall, where Riot Fest presented the return of FAITH NO MORE to the Windy City. For those of you that read this site regularly, you may already know that if not for my first-ever interview with FNM back in 1992 during the ANGEL DUST Tour, it's entirely possible that my life could've taken an entirely different path. Now, 18 years after their previous release, ALBUM OF THE YEAR, the band is back with SOL INVICTUS, their first effort since re-forming in 2009. Today, NPR is streaming the album in-full, one week ahead of it's May 19 release here in the United States. Check it out via the embedded player below...

If you're a regular reader of this site, then you probably already know that FAITH NO MORE is not only my favorite band of all-time, but essentially the reason why I am who I am today. With their first album since 1997's ALBUM OF THE YEAR confirmed last September, today comes the official title, release date and tracklisting. On May 19, FAITH NO MORE will release SOL INVICTUS via Reclamation Recordings/Ipecac Recordings. The release will arrive just days after wrapping up their first U.S. Tour in nearly 18 years - a tour I was lucky enough to snag tickets for during a much-frenzied pre-sale window. What a great day this has been. FAITH NO MORE, my favorite band of all-time, has officially announced that their first album since 1997's ALBUM OF THE YEAR will be released in April of 2015. This is HUGE news, and the first single will be released via Record Store Day's Black Friday event (11/28/14) when a limited-edition (5,000 copies) 7" vinyl of the song "Motherf**ker" hits the streets. Can I line up for this now?

Over the past few years, I've covered a lot of lullaby tributes to popular artists here on THE ROCK FATHER, but tonight is really special as I'm getting to break the news on what is undoubtedly the lullaby album of the year - Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star: LULLABY VERSIONS OF FAITH NO MORE. Set for release on September 16th (pre-order on iTunes), the crew over at Roma Music Group have reworked a dozen FNM classics into nursery-friendly instrumental jams for baby.  This is an exceptionally exciting release for me, as it's my favorite band of all-time getting the lullaby treatment. Check out the lullaby version of "Falling to Pieces" below, right here on THE ROCK FATHER...
