With Veterans Day placing a much-deserved focus on members of the American Armed Forces, many companies are taking the opportunity to say "thanks" with special offers and promotions that are only available for a limited time. At Great Wolf Lodge, the gratitude is year-round as they pay respect to those who have served to product us all year long. The Howlin’ Heroes discount welcomes veterans with up to 30% savings on each stay with the special code: heroes. Great Wolf Lodge knows veterans have continued to protect our families and it’s time to reconnect with theirs.
Unlike the world I grew up in as a kid, military toys for kids in 2017 are a little bit hard to come by. Aside from an True Heroes at Toys "R" Us, Lanard Toys' The Corps at Walmart and maybe the occasional G.I. Joe release from Hasbro, there just isn't a huge presence for old-school military adventures, and with that in mind I was pretty surprised to come across a new collection called AWESOME LITTLE GREEN MEN. Featured on display at The Toy Insider's Sweet Suite '17, this new line of blind boxed figures and vehicles comes from MGA Entertainment, the folks behind LOL Surprise, Num Noms, Lalaloopsy, Project Mc2, Bratz and Little Tikes. With a goal of "combining humor and battle play with a pop vinyl aesthetic," Awesome Little Green Men will begin hitting retail stores nationwide on August 1, 2017.
One of the year's most intriguing military thrillers is coming home, and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment and THE ROCK FATHER Magazine are giving readers a chance to win it! EYE IN THE SKY looks at the moral issues involving drone warfare spread across a multi-national canvas. The gritty film stars Academy Award® Winner, Helen Mirren (Trumbo, The Queen), Aaron Paul (“Breaking Bad,” Need for Speed), Academy Award® Nominee Barkhad Abdi (Captain Philips), Iain Glen (“Game of Thrones,” Lara Croft: Tomb Raider) and the late Alan Rickman (Die Hard, Harry Potter) in his final on-screen performance. Check out the details, and enter to win one of two copies on Blu-ray below!
This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Columbia Bicycles, but all my opinions are that of THE ROCK FATHER. #pmedia #RideColumbia http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV
There is a rebirth taking place... With roots dating back to the 1877 opening of Boston's Pope Manufacturing company under the leadership of Colonel Albert Pope, America's first bicycles bore the name "Columbia," and were manufactured using pioneering techniques that would later win fans and adopters such as a cyclist by the name of Henry Ford. In fact, Columbia Bicycles once had a sister company in Pope Automobiles, a short-lived venture that while innovative at the time, would somewhat ironically be eclipsed by the Ford Motor Company, among others. While automotive aspirations didn't quite pan-out, the Columbia Bikes would amass a rich history, rolling on for well-over a century before slightly fading from the public eye, just waiting for the right time to re-emerge... now.
This past Friday, I had the opportunity to attend a special event hosted by Country Music star Tim McGraw, Operation Homefront, and Outback Steakhouse. My duties as The Rock Father took precedence on Friday, so I had to take a pass - but what happened was a fantastic lunch at the Outback Steakhouse in Orland Park, Illinois (my old stomping grounds!) which is just outside of Chicago. McGraw (a member of a military family) spent some time with members of our Armed Forces and their families as a thank you for their service and dedication leading into Memorial Day. Check out some video from the event below...
