Boasting 382 pieces (recommended for ages 5+), this set is a challenge, and one that requires a good hour or two to complete. Right out of the box, you'll notice that there's quite a few bags of blocks, and as always, we started things off by sorting all of the pieces by color - something that I always point out as being an essential step for a decent-sized build like this one.
In doing several sets, Addie's favorite part is building the drivers and vehicles themselves, really digging the included version of Bone Shaker with this set (a red/white/chrome variant of the classic black). If you haven't heard a four-year-old girl dance and wiggle while saying "Bone Shaker! It's a skeleton like Halloween!," you really should. I need to get video of that.
In it's completed form, MEGA BLOKS states that this set can facilitate 30+ stunts, only a few of which are included with the instructions, with the rest to be found on the official site. There's several more we want to build, including the "Fire Jump" and "High Jump," both of which can be seen in the video below. Also, pay attention to the beginning of the clip, which features one of our favorite features, but one I didn't get a good photo of here at HQ - the "launcher." It's simplicity is fantastic, in that it's really just a monster truck tire on a spindle, but it can be used to manually send your cars flying with no batteries or mechanics. Pretty sweet.
The MEGA BLOKS Hot Wheels Super Stunt Test Facility is Rock Father-Approved, and is available now from my affiliate, Target.com. We'll be playing with this one for quite awhile, as Addie needs to keep besting herself. "We need to make the cars jump higher, Daddy!" We sure do...
