Quantcast

I wasn't expecting my favorite new holiday song of 2016 to come from LACUNA COIL, but that just changed with the surprise release of "Naughty Christmas," a digital single (Amazon | iTunes) released by Century Media this morning. It's a cautionary tale about why kids should want to be good, with Santa delivering presents for those with good behavior, and Krampus coming for the naughty ones. My wife and I have a differing opinion on Krampus (she gets very annoyed at his mere mention - leading me to believe he may have come for her as a child), but I get excited. Perhaps it's my German roots, but I think that more children should know and respect the Krampus. Crank this one up!

Prepare for the Coming of The KRAMPUS...

This one is not for the kids, folks. Or, maybe it is (if they've been naughty!), as I've often mentioned that more children should know the legend of the Krampus. Perhaps it's because of my own German roots, but I do love the Krampus - the opposite of Santa Claus, you could say - a creature that punishes the naughty kids instead of rewarding the good ones. My wife does not share my love of the Krampus, so when THE HIPWADERS' new CD single (yes, those still exist) arrived with "El Chupacabra" and "der Krampus," I was giddy. Heck, even THE AQUABATS! have squared off against the legendary monster, so when news came down that Legendary Pictures was letting TRICK 'R TREAT director Michael Dougherty make a big-screen KRAMPUS adventure, I was totally on-board. Now the trailer is here, and what a sight to behold... the perfect marriage of two of my favorite things - Halloween and Xmas. Check out the trailer below, and pre-order your tickets now via Fandango!

The AquabatsAfter The Hub Network began it's slow disintegration earlier this year (disclosure: I was one of their "Hub Club" writers for about five minutes), one of the major signs that the end was near was their unceremonious non-cancelling cancellation of THE AQUABATS! SUPER SHOW!, almost at the same time in which The Aquabats! received five Daytime Emmy nominations, of which they'd win one. If I understand it correctly, they essentially gave the show back to The Aquabats!, leaving them free to take it to another network or service. While Netflix is the obvious choice for new episodes (and hey, I write for the Netflix #StreamTeam now!), the first season disappeared from the streaming giant on December 15th, but in a "Christmas miracle" of sorts, the entire run of the show, including the "lost" Season 2 and "3" (special) episodes have appeared on both Amazon Instant and iTunes. Why is this so important, you ask? Well, as a gift to all of you, The Aquabats! have uploaded the entire Christmas! With The Aquabats! special to YouTube, and it can be viewed now, right here on THE ROCK FATHER. Personally, I've been waiting nearly a year to see this one again...
