Little PimStudies show that children under six have the best time with learning a foreign language, and my friends at Little Pim aim to make it fun and easy. We've had some selections from their Spanish and French collections here at Rock Father HQ for quite some time now, and I can't recommend them enough... this coming from a guy that took three years of French in High School, and is now using Little Pim to re-learn a little bit for himself. Little Pim's series of books, DVDs, flashcards and music are aimed at kids Birth-6, and are available in a variety of configurations - making them an affordable gift option: Especially when you grab the Little Pim plush panda to go with it! Little Pim is available in Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Arabic, Hebrew, Russian, and English, and makes The Rock Father's 2013 Holiday Gift Guide, making an encore appearance since first being showcased here in 2012.

TRU SPA-plushIn addition to being available on the Little Pim website (Use Code: LPHOLIDAY for 20% Off Your Order!), the Spanish, French, and Chinese Discovery Sets are available in-store at Toys "R" Us this Holiday Season.

The LITTLE PIM Method:

infomercialgirl3cropped1"The Entertainment Immersion Method® integrates the latest scientific research regarding kids’ language learning and brain development. Pimsleur Levine developed the series with leading neuroscientist Dr. April Benasich, director of the Rutgers Infancy Studies Lab.

Each of Little Pim's educational DVDs has a unique, child-friendly theme, such as eating, playtime and feelings. The method teaches 360 words and phrases, providing the essential building blocks for language learning. A child only needs 500 words to be considered “conversational” in a language. Babies, toddlers and kids respond enthusiastically to Little Pim’s format, which combines animated and live-action videos.

Little Pim understands how children learn, so their videos are segmented into 5-minute episodes to accommodate a young child’s attention span. Simple sentences are broken down into easy-to-understand parts and reinforced through repetition by native speakers."
