Later this month, I will be among the first to screen the completed version of MARVEL's ANT-MAN when I return to Los Angeles to cover the film's press junket as part of the #AntManEvent (but more on that later). For mass audiences, Paul Rudd will hit the big-screen in the small suit on July 17th, and today the first TV Spot has arrived online - serving up a fresh look at ANT-MAN (get tix via Fandango) and his nemesis, YELLOWJACKET. Check out the new clip below, and let me know what you think!
On July 17, MARVEL's biggest new hero is actually pretty small sometimes, and that's because he's ANT-MAN (get tickets via FANDANGO). I've been covering Paul Rudd's foray into the MARVEL Cinematic Universe here for a bit, and I'm still completely looking forward to it. Today comes the latest theatrical poster, and I'm sharing it with you here on THE ROCK FATHER... because if you dug AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, you need to start getting excited for the next chapter of MARVEL goodness to unfold.
On July 17, the MARVEL Cinematic Universe will get a little bit... smaller. MARVEL's ANT-MAN is coming, and today the first full trailer for the film has arrived, and it looks pretty fantastic. ANT-MAN stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Corey Stoll as Darren Cross aka Yellowjacket, Bobby Cannavale as Paxton, Michael Peña as Luis, Judy Greer as Maggie, Tip “Ti” Harris as Dave, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, Wood Harris as Gale, Jordi Mollà as Castillo and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym. Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige, Marvel’s ANT-MAN also features a cameo by THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE. Who knew?
Could MARVEL's ANT-MAN be this year's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY? While it might not pull as crazy the box office numbers, I'm thinking so, as the MARVEL Cinematic Universe (MCU) continues to expand with some of the coolest, yet lesser-known superheroes making their way onto the big screen. These new additions to the MCU are also bringing new heroes to the toy and collectible worlds, and PPW Toys' line of PopTaters is no exception. Coming later this year to specialty retailers and websites only is the ANT-MAN MR. POTATO HEAD, the latest recruit to the Marvel Heroes collection of 6" PopTaters to be produced by PPW under license from Hasbro. While I'd fully expect to see more revealed at next month's Toy Fair in NYC (sadly, I will not be attending), the folks at PPW sent over the concept art. Check it out...
I've been a little out of the loop these past couple of days (out of town for a wake/funeral), so there's a couple of important pop culture happenings that I'm belated in posting about, yet ones that need to be showcased here on THE ROCK FATHER. One such point? The debut of the full-length teaser of MARVEL's ANT-MAN - the latest entry into the ever-growing MARVEL Cinematic Universe, and one of my most-anticipated films of 2015. Check out Paul Rudd (who my wife points out "looks hot in this trailer") and Michael Douglas (who I'll point out is "a cinematic treasure") getting suited-up below...

The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios’ ANT-MAN when master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats.
