Ever since they were first announced last year, the new line of PLAYMOBIL Ghostbusters toys have been on our most-anticipated list here at Rock Father HQ. Not only do I personally view Playmobil as being one of the finest toy collections of all-time, but The Rock Daughters™ count them among their most-cherished toys. Even this past Christmas, the Playmobil Hospital was the "big" gift from Santa for our oldest - something she'd been asking for all year. Now, factor in that the first pop culture license from Playmobil happens to be another favorite, and Playmobil Ghostbusters is about to be huge! Check out the trailer below...

MARVEL Studios and Sony Pictures will release Spider-Man: Homecoming on July 7, and ahead of the movie comes the toys. This week, Hasbro revealed a sneak-preview of what they'll be rolling out this spring, serving up a refreshed line of action figures, vehicles and playsets in support of the film. From this initial preview, the Spidey stuff looks a lot more appealing than the last few lines, with the 6" action figures sporting a movie look, the "Spidey Racer" vehicle including a NERF dart feature (akin to recent Star Wars vehicles), and some pretty cool playsets.

Yesterday, Instagram user ulrichlulu posted what may have been the first-ever picture of the new Galen Erso action figure from Hasbro's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story collection. Reposted by actor Mads Mikkelsen on his official channels this morning, the folks at Hasbro got in touch with an official product shot that I'm excited to share with you today. Check out the new 3.75" action figure below!

KONG: SKULL ISLAND Gets a Toy Line...

Mass-market movie tie-in toys are an interesting beast. On one hand, you have the obvious ones (Star Wars, Power Rangers, TMNT) that are a hit with fans and do well for toymakers and retailers alike. On the other hand, you have ones that are a little more risky - for example, the Robocop reboot from a few years back. The stuff that lands in your local "big box" should ideally sell, and sell quickly due to the limited window of theatrical and home video releases and kid appeal. Warner Bros. Pictures' Kong: Skull Island doesn't scream "awesome toy line!," and that could well be the reason why the rights have landed with Lanard - a risk that could be a great breakthrough for them.

It's hard to believe that it's already been ten years since Michael Bay's first TRANSFORMERS film hit theaters, but this summer the adventure continues when Paramount Pictures releases Transformers: The Last Knight on June 23, 2017. A new film means spinning things back to where it all began with some new toys from Hasbro, and two of the new ones just made their debut at the Hong Kong Toy Fair. Check out two beautiful new versions of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee below!

There's not a lot of information to report just yet, but when Toy Fair New York takes place next month, one new product line set to make its debut is coming from NECA, set in the world of Blade Runner 2049.  NECA revealed today that that have acquired the license to Warner Bros. Pictures' hotly anticipated sequel to the legendary 1982 sci-fi movie. The company promises a full range of action figures, diecast vehicles, replicas, games and more in 2017. Since there's no artwork to share just yet, here's a quick look at the upcoming film...
