"They touch our lives daily, and as long as they are working without pay, the least we can do is provide them with a delicious meal to show our support."
This Holiday Wish Guide™ Special Feature is presented in collaboration between The Rock Father™ and Nintendo of America...
Despite the fact that we play games of many kinds here at Rock Father HQ, I've always made it very clear that I grew up a Nintendo kid and our girls are very much on that same path. We've got the 2DS, 3DS, NES Classic, Super NES Classic, and of course, the Nintendo Switch - a system that continues to surprise. Last year, I featured the Switch in my Holiday Wish Guide, and for 2018 its back again - with the release of Super Smash Bros Ultimate, one of the most-anticipated titles of the year (for any platform. There's also Nintendo Labo, including the new Vehicle Kits, plus new Pokémon titles including Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! But that's far from all. Nintendo eShop Gift Cards make great gifts, and the gamers in your life can pick out their favorite titles from hundreds available, including many "Nindie" games (those from independent publishers). Beyond that, there's a host of Nintendo toys and collectibles available - including Hallmark's all-new Mario Kart Keepsake Ornament and Hasbro's MONOPOLY Gamer Edition that brings the excitement of Mario Kart to the table.
After months of preparation, the Mills Entertainment production of American Girl Live had its World Premiere at The North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie, Illinois - just outside of Chicago. Our family was in attendance for the debut performance of the all-new musical, which whisks audiences away to join a group of girls for an adventure at summer camp.
No party is complete without festive food for the occasion, even if your guests dressed in their best ugly sweaters for the event. If you want to serve up the best samples of the season, try these festive shots and drinks that put the "spirit" in Christmas spirit.
This fall, Sony Pictures' take on Marvel's VENOM thrilled audiences with an over-the-top and highly-entertaining adventure. It was a surprise, but this spin on one of Marvel's most enigmatic, complex, and badass characters fast-became a global hit, and now it's come home for the holidays on Digital, 4K Ultra HD™ Combo Pack, Blu-ray™ Combo Pack, and DVD! Directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland), VENOM features an all-star cast including Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises, Mad Max: Fury Road), Michelle Williams (The Greatest Showman), Riz Ahmed (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, TV’s “The Night Of”), Jenny Slate (Zootopia) and Woody Harrelson (Zombieland, The Hunger Games franchise). I've already recommended VENOM as a Rock Father-approved movie night title, and now I've teamed-up with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment to serve up a chance for you to win a killer VENOM Prize Pack. One Grand Prize Winner will receive a special Holiday VENOM box - the same kind given out to talent at the recent Venom Block Party in Los Angeles. It includes a VENOM Blu-ray, VENOM Santa Hat, holiday "GingerVenom" cookie, and a custom Paper Foldables VENOM Christmas ornament! One additional winner will receive VENOM on Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Combo Pack plus an Exclusive T-Shirt (size small).
Having listened to dozens (probably more like 200) new holiday songs in putting together my ever-expanding Ultimate Guide to New Release Holiday Music & Movies this year, it's been hard to pick the definitive hit for 2018. That's until now, with the release of "All I Want for Christmas" by Lil Jon featuring Kool-Aid Man. Indeed, it's been a great year for holiday music, and while there's some great songs out there, this one is just an unexpected jam and it's been added to my Ultimate Christmas Spotify Playlist as well. Oh yeah!
