PRODUCT OF HATE --Request the new single, "Kill. You. Now." on Liquid Metal!

If there is one metal band you need to see this year, PRODUCT OF HATE is that band. I've been championing them since I first saw them perform live back in 2009, and now, as their co-manager, indeed I'm biased, but I'm also confident that once you see them perform live, you'll feel the same way. Check out the announcement below...

Are you ready to be BURIED IN VIOLENCE? This Spring, PRODUCT OF HATE will hit the road for their first tour since the release of their Napalm Records debut, BURIED IN VIOLENCE. Hailed as "One of 12 Bands to Watch in 2016" by Metal Hammer/Team Rock, PRODUCT OF HATE will perform a hometown tour warm-up show at Route 20 Outhouse in Sturtevant, Wisconsin on April 22 (with special guests LevRage and Left With Tomorrow), before heading out on a U.S. run in support of MUSHROOMHEAD.  Following the success of their recent single and video for "Monster," the band has filmed two more music videos, the first of which, "Kill. You. Now." is expected to be released in the coming weeks. See the full run of currently confirmed live dates for PRODUCT OF HATE below, and stay tuned for more dates to be announced in the near future.

With all the coverage area I hit here on THE ROCK FATHER, there's times when the needle is so far over to the "family" side of things that I don't get to spend as much time over here in the "grownups" section as I'd like. That said, it's time to play a little bit of catch-up on some new releases from the metallic side of things, one of which hit the streets back in May - the latest album from MUSHROOMHEAD, THE RIGHTEOUS & THE BUTTERFLY.

I really need to share some formal thoughts on it soon, but I've been spinning THE RIGHTEOUS & THE BUTTERFLY, the latest effort from MUSHROOMHEAD, quite a bit here at Rock Father HQ these past few weeks. The album, released to the public last week, landed at #20 on the Billboard Top 200 (the band's highest debut), along with securing the #1 spot on the Hard Rock Chart. The oddball of the bunch is the #5 debut on the Billboard Rock Album chart, where TORI AMOS and LORDE landed ahead of MRH... along with actual "rock artists," THE BLACK KEYS and SANTANA.

So much rock. So little time. I cover 'Music for Kids' and 'Music for Grown-ups' here on The Rock Father™, and since so much news from the latter pours in here on a daily basis, there's just no way to cover it all... but I can do a lot, in bite-sized nuggets. Hence, The Random Rock N' More - quick one-liners on dozens of bands and artists, each with a link to delve deeper if you choose. The important info without the fluff. It's also the only real time that the 'For Grown-ups' music hits the homepage. We'll start with 'Rock' - from indie to mainstream, metal to punk, and everything in-between - then shift to 'N More' for some other genres. Here's updates on over 36 bands and artists for May 5, 2012.

nothingcdreviewWith THE NEW PSYCHODALIA (out this week via Suburban Noize Records), MUSHROOMHEAD's JEFFREY NOTHING brings listeners his first full-length solo effort. A few years in the works, the debut album from NOTHING serves up nearly an hour's worth of music in a set that contains a lucky 13 songs that manage to both captivate and disturb.
