When I first saw SUPER WINGS on Sprout a year or so ago, I imagined the pitch meeting for the show going something like "What if Disney's PLANES turned into sentient robots like the TRANSFORMERS... but taught quality lessons to kids ages 3-6?" That pretty much sums up yet another entry in our girls' regular viewing, with SUPER WINGS being a Rock Father-approved show with a catchy theme song and plenty of adventure. It particularly struck Little Finley's interest, a perfect companion to CARS, CHUGGINGTON, BLAZE AND THE MONSTER MACHINES, DINOTRUX and other vehicularly-themed programs that have made the jump into the off-screen world of toys. Yes, later this year, Auldey Toys will launch a full line of transformable figures and playsets, and they'll debut at Toy Fair in NYC next month. Here's an early preview!

Back when I was going overboard with my STAR WARS collecting addiction, I had this "Interactive Yoda and Lightsaber" that Tiger Electronics and Hasbro released. A lot of what was inside it was closely related to the Furby, and while 15 years has brought us Hasbro's forthcoming Furbacca (so cool), the robotic geniuses at Spin Master Toys just may have waiting in the wings what I'd always hoped that "Interactive Yoda" would've been. Straight out of Toy Fair comes this Sneak-Peek at Spin Master's LEGENDARY YODA. Take a look...

After acquiring MEGA BLOKS last year following a previous partnership that found iconic Mattel properties such as Barbie and Hot Wheels making their way into block form, Mattel has announced some major moves to expand their construction sets by bringing some major licenses into the world of MEGA BLOKS. From Mattel's own portfolio comes the long-rumored new collection of MONSTER HIGH Building Sets that find the ghoulish guys and gals taking play into a whole different realm. MEGA BLOKS will also issue new sets under their Power Rangers line, with collections based on Saban's POWER RANGERS DINO CHARGE, which just debuted on Nickelodeon this month. While those are cool, the biggest news may be a pair of licenses that they've snagged from others in the growing brick segment...

Jazwares has unveiled new additions to it's preschool category at the currently-running 2015 North American International Toy Fair. New toys featuring PEPPA PIG and CHUCK & FRIENDS are rolling out this year, a preview of which can be found below, right here on THE ROCK FATHER...

Oh yes, they did.

I received my first CABBAGE PATCH KID back in 1984 - the result of my parents not paying scalpers for one during the mad craze of 1983. I still have him - his name is Ollie - and he's now a happy cousin to many other Cabbage Patch Kids here at Rock Father HQ, those owned by my daughters, and even one known as "Baby Boy" that was owned by my late friend, Justin Mentell. The dolls created by Xavier Roberts have had an interesting history, having been produced over the past 30+ years by Coleco, Hasbro, Mattel, Toys "R" Us, Play Along Toys, JAKKS Pacific... and now, Wicked Cool Toys. Just ahead of New York Toy Fair, the folks at Wicked Cool have officially been named the new master toymaker for the Cabbage Patch Kids brand - and I've got a sneak peek!

Earlier this month, I shared a preview of BARBIE IN PRINCESS POWER, the 30th animated film to feature Barbie and her friends. For the first time in Mattel's 56-year history, Barbie is donning the cape and mask to become a real superhero (unlike the times she's dressed-up as licensed characters), and at the world's largest Toy Fair in Nuremberg, Barbie appeared as a live-action, high-flying character to launch the toy line associated with the coming film, and it's digital empowerment mission, Be Super. Check out some video from the launch...
