I loved Lazer Tag as a kid, but even more so I loved Photon. There was actually an arena in Harvey, Illinois that I was able to visit once for a birthday party, and for over three decades I've been bummed that I never got a chance to go back. Why am I thinking of that tonight? Well, because Laser X has been bringing that action back for the past couple of years, and at the 2018 edition of the North American International Toy Fair in New York, they're adding Micro Blasters to their "ultimate high-tech game of tag." NYC-based NSI International Inc. says that "the new 5-inch blasters are super small, but deliver big fun."
At the 115th North American International Toy Fair in NYC, Little Kids Inc. will drop the curtain on a vast new line of new bubble and water products ahead of the spring season. Personally, I'm ready to be done with winter, and a look at some cool new bubble blasters will no doubt amp-up the cabin fever. New this year are items featuring the iconic Sesame Street and Entertainment One's sizzling hot PJ Masks property, including bubble blowing vehicles featuring the TV show's three heroes (Cat Boy, Owlette and Gekko) as well as Little Kids' popular Water Rescue Packs that shoot water up to 30 feet. The spring line will also include newly designed bubble products created specifically for pre-schooler's little hands that, in addition to blowing bubbles, feature age-appropriate play patterns for the youngest kids to learn while playing. Returning favorite properties including Nickelodeon's™ Paw Patrol™ and Shimmer and Shine™ and Jelly Belly® and Peeps® branded products in time for Easter baskets.
Today is THE day for big Star Wars news out of Hasbro, and it's surprisingly happening just a little bit earlier that expected. With the 115th North American International Toy Fair taking place February 17-21, 2018 (The Rock Father™ will be there!) Hasbro is serving-up some sneak previews of product that is expected to be on-display during a special event that they're holding this Saturday (I'll be in the house for that as well). Of particular interest here at Rock Father HQ is the continuation of the classic 3¾" Star Wars action figure collection, and the latest line refresh will be for Lucasfilm's Solo: A Star Wars Story. Revealed today are a handful of new action figures, along with the Force Link 2.0 technology, and the awesome Kessel Run Millennium Falcon. For the latter, there's a little bit of "spoiler" territory involved, which is both awesome, and yet not completely unexpected given the fact that the Falcon is a very old ship that tends to change in appearance based upon the tastes and care of its owner.
The 2018 edition of the annual North American International Toy Fair is about to get underway in New York, and ahead of that, Hasbro is rolling out some early reveals prior to dropping the curtain at the show. On Saturday, February 17, 2018, I will be in the house for Hasbro's fan media event in NYC, and while we await news from there, here's a look at the first four characters to officially be revealed from Solo: A Star Wars Story as presented as Star Wars: The Black Series super-articulated 6" action figures.
When you're a kid, poop is funny. Then you grow up and somehow it becomes less funny by the year, and for whatever reason, a taboo subject... despite the fact that everybody poops. In Poop Talk, a new docu-comedy from director Aaron Feldman, 50 experts and comedians come together to shatter the stigma of poop. From embarrassing moments to the scientific reasoning behind it all, Poop Talk may well be the definitive film about feces. Among those featured are The Sklar Brothers, Randy and Jason, who also serve as Executive Producers on the film, which was initially pitched as "The History of Poop." Feldman calls it "a seemingly high brow approach to a low brow subject," and ahead of its February 16 release via Comedy Dynamics, The Sklar Brothers took some time to throw-down with The Rock Father™ some additional thoughts on the subject in a two-part feature. In particular, "The Great Poop Toy Explosion of 2018,"which is expected to make a big splash at the 115th North American Toy Fair in New York City, the same weekend that Poop Talk hits theaters.
A few weeks back, my wife and I took The Rock Daughters to their first big train show. They loved it, and that was expected... after all, we have a several trains here at Rock Father HQ, one of which is from Bachmann Trains. I'm always interested in seeing what they're up to, and this year Bachmann Trains is introducing five new ready-to-run electric train sets in the two most popular scales at Toy Fair 2018 in New York. Today we've got early details on all five sets, along with photos of two of them!
