Over the past year or so, I've noticed an uptick in the amount of simple toy vehicles being released - specifically ones that are character-based, or include a non-removable character behind the wheel. Geared toward the preschool crowd, there's some cool ones out there, and one of the newest players is Jazwares, who've served-up a new collection of miniature vehicles including Peppa Pig Mini Buggies, Chuggington Train Cars, Chuck & Friends (featuring a crossover with Marvel Comics) and Dinosaur Train. Sent to us for review here at Rock Father HQ, here's a look at some of what's in stores now...

PEPPA PIG is enjoying a Renaissance of sorts, especially here in the United States, where it's seen a massive resurgence over the past two years since being distributed by eOne. Airing regularly on Nick Jr., the Peppa Pig light went off for my girls at some point in the last year, and now the lovable pig and her friends are in regular rotation for viewing and play (Jazwares makes some cool toys). On Sunday, March 6, at 6 p.m. ET, Nick Jr. will host the U.S. premiere of a very special “peppasode," THE GOLDEN BOOTS. In celebration of Spring, eOne and THE ROCK FATHER Magazine are giving you a chance to win PEPPA PIG: THE GOLDEN BOOTS on DVD (out March 8), along with a look at some fun Peppa activies...

Toy FairIt's interesting to see how certain shows go "in waves" under one roof, and PEPPA PIG is certainly riding a good one here at Rock Father HQ. Right now, it's part of the nightly routine, saved on the DVR and requested before bedtime, and just today - as a Valentine's Day treat, both of The Rock Daughters received a little something Peppa-releated. For Addie, small plush of Peppa and George, and for Finley, a Walmart-exclusive complete family set (including Grandma & Grandpa Pig!). Perfectly timed comes the announcement out of Jazwares that they'll be expanding their Peppa Pig offerings, with new products just announced at the North American International Toy Fair in New York...

Toy FairRight now, as I sit here typing this, there is a Weebles Treehouse not more than five feet from me in this very office. It's likely the last Weebles Treehouse to be directly produced under Hasbro for their Playskool line, as we got it for Addie roughly 5-6 years ago. Now, continuing the tradition of their older lines being licensed out to smaller toymakers (Tonka, Mr. Potato Head, etc.), Weebles have moved over to Jazwares, and will be relaunched with a new look this August.

KIA NBA LogoThe crew over at Kia is the Official Automotive Partner of the NBA, and it's the Kia Optima that wears the crown as "The Official Vehicle of the NBA." If you've seen the commercials with Blake Griffin of the Los Angeles Clippers, then you might already know that... or perhaps you've seen the ones with Cleveland Cavaliers' superstar LeBron James rockin' his car of choice, the K900 Luxury Sedan. Either way, Kia sponsors numerous initiatives within the NBA, along with partnering with over a dozen individual teams, one of which happens to be the Chicago Bulls.
