While the specifics have not yet been revealed, StarVista Entertainment/Time-Life have announced a 2014 release for THE WONDER YEARS: THE COMPLETE SERIES on DVD. The hit ABC series, which starred Fred Savage, Danica McKellar, Dan Lauria, Alley Mills, Jason Hervey, Olivia d'Abo, Josh Saviano and Daniel Stern has been a frequently-requested title, as it's never been available in it's entirety.

Holy Retro Pop Culture, Batman! 48 years ago today - Wednesday, January 12, 1966, BATMAN premiered on ABC for the first of 120 episodes of campy, Caped Crusader goodness. Like many, I grew up watching it in re-runs on WFLD Channel 32 here in Chicago, a staple of 1980s post-school viewing. As a parent, I've introduced my little ones to the series via the 1966 feature-length film on DVD, with hopes that we'll eventually see the long-awaited proper Blu-ray and DVD release... which seems to become rumored at least once a year.

For Day 30 of 31 Days of Halloween 2013 here on The Rock Father, we have... a repeat entry from 2012? Indeed we do, as IT'S THE GREAT PUMPKIN, CHARLIE BROWN makes it back into my annual celebration of the Halloween Season. Airing tomorrow, Halloween night at 8|7c on ABC, as I said last year, there has never been, nor will there ever be, another Halloween special as timeless as the 1966 classic featuring The Peanuts Gang. If you don't already have it on DVD or Blu-Ray (or maybe, even if you do), there's just something really special about sitting down as a family and watching it on live television. In the meantime, here's a couple of clips...

I must be getting soft this week. Three Kickstarters in seven days, and I usually don't post Kickstarter projects at all (largely because once I do a post, ten more people come at me with their hands out for coverage, and most of them suck), but there have been some good things popping up lately. One example is LiddUp, a cooler with built-in LED lighting... like a refrigerator. Seems like a simple, no-brainer of an idea... but it goes deeper. Featured this past week on ABC's SHARK TANK (where the creators did score a deal), a Kickstarter is up*, and there's no better overview of the product than the video by Jayson Sandberg and Taylor Gwiazdon.

There has never been, nor will there ever be, another Halloween special as timeless as the 1966 classic, IT'S THE GREAT PUMPKIN, CHARLIE BROWN. That said, it's only fitting that I include the Peanuts gang in 31 Days of Halloween on the big day itself. If you don't already have it on DVD or Blu-Ray (or maybe, even if you do), ABC will be running THE GREAT PUMPKIN tonight at 8pm ET.
