Did Hasbro & Funko Just Announce AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Figures Based on a Cut Scene?

Written by

If you haven't seen Marvel Studios' Avengers: Infinity War yet, what I'm about to share with you might be considered SPOILER territory... but it's not actually something that's in the film. In fact, it's something that is 100% not in the film, but based upon the earlier marketing materials (photos, trailers, tv spots) it is something that you might go into the film expecting to see. More below the jump...

In the ramp-up to a major film launch, the ancillary products like toys and games often have to be developed around 18 months in advance, but a few companies (like Funko) can do it quicker. Still, sometimes the licensing partners are shown things that wind up in the toy aisle even after they've been cut from a film... take Constable Zuvio for example - a desert lawman who wound up with two different action figures for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but only appeared for about three frames (despite being marketed in official stills). Assuming that you've seen the new Avengers film, you know that Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner at one point pilots Tony Stark's Hulkbuster armor, all while fighting the urge to fully Hulk-out. We think it's gonna happen, and again, some stills indicate that it was supposed to happen... but it never did. And now we have a post-film announcement of two separate toys that feature Banner as the Hulk busting out of the armor.

MARVEL AVENGERS INFINITY WAR HULK OUT HULKBUSTER Figure

From Hasbro there's the MARVEL AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR HULK OUT HULKBUSTER Figure, a $60 toy for kids ages 4+ that's arriving in stores now and will be hitting HasbroToyShop.com soon.

Smash into action and HULK OUT with HULK OUT HULKBUSTER figure! Kids can bulk up their 12-inch HULK figure by assembling armor pieces to transform him into a 13.5-inch HULKBUSTER. Bust HULK out the HULKBUSTER armor by pressing the buttons on the back of the figure and sending the armor pieces flying. Features movie-inspired HULK and HULKBUSTER phrases, smashing fist action, light-up eyes and battle sound effects. Includes armor and figure. Requires 2 AA batteries, included.

While the official release date for this one is Friday, May 4, 2018 - be aware that some stores have already put them on shelves, thus they're making an early appearance on the secondary market via eBay.
