They've teased it for awhile, and now THE PRETTY RECKLESS has finally unleashed a proper music video for their recent single, "Going to Hell" (on iTunes now). The TAYLOR MOMSEN-fronted rockers (who I dig immensely) are currently on the road getting geared up for the release of the sophomore full-length early next year on Razor & Tie. Check out the new clip from director Tim Mattia (CAGE THE ELEPHANT, MARILYN MANSON) below, along with some words from Momsen...

Doing a site that's largely family-friendly (sans the "For Grownups" section), it's always weird to think that I have a whole body of work that I can't share with my kids. Not yet, anyway. Between the music, films, videos, and comics I've done in the past, there's actually not really anything that's kid-friendly (again, not yet), but most of it came before I became I parent. Most, but not all. I give you PRODUCT OF HATE - THE UNHOLY MANIPULATOR (IMDb) a long-form music video that I directed and edited... a video that was released for Halloween 2012, but never properly featured here on The Rock Father. I should warn you, it's NSFW (not-safe-for-work), unless you happen to work somewhere really cool. It's Day 15 of 31 Days of Halloween 2013, and I'm going to show you the video and tell you a story...

I think it's been a pretty good few months for BARENAKED LADIES. Their latest album, GRINNING STREAK (read my review here) hit the streets back in June, and they hit the road for another LAST SUMMER ON EARTH Tour alongside BEN FOLDS FIVE, BOOTHBY GRAFFOE, and GUSTER (which I attended), and now they're back with a new video. It's a clip that's really perfect for the Halloween season, if only due to the Zombie onslaught that takes claims Kevin Hearn late in the video. But, "Odds Are" they'll be alright...

When we last heard from Jessica Fleischer, she'd just released her new LOTS OF LOVE album, and was about to release her first children's book. Now she's back with a new music video from the LOTS OF LOVE record, one directed by her sister, Rachel. Check out "It's So Hard" below.

For Halloween this year, a pair of Kindie artists have come together for their first release as a duo. YOU AND ME AND THE RAIN finds Portland's LORI HENRIQUES and Los Angeles' TODD McHATTON getting seasonal on their first single, "For Halloween This Year."  The single and it's accompanying D.I.Y video land at Day 5 on The Rock Father's 31 Days of Halloween 2013.

archercoverStraight out of Perth, Australia comes ARCHER & LIGHT, who are delivering their first-ever music video this week for their song, "Melbourne (I Used to Be Your All)." The band cites Bright Eyes, Bon Iver, Wilco, The Temper Trap, Death Cab for Cutie and Radiohead among their influences as they blend indie rock with folk, pop and electronica on their debut EP, OUR LOVE IS CONFETTI (available on iTunes now). Check out the video below and let me know what you think...
