MUPPETS MOST WANTED hit theaters this weekend, and from what I'm hearing, failed to heat up the box office, bringing in just $16.5M compared to the nearly $30M opening weekend for THE MUPPETS a few years back. Despite my deep, deep love for The Muppets, I have not made it out with Addie to see the new film just yet, and maybe that's the case with a lot of parents. Or maybe it's that on the surface (or perhaps deeper), MUPPETS MOST WANTED suffers from what many Muppets projects have in recent years - a lack of originality that finds the group always trying to save a theater or have a caper. It's a cycle that needs to be broken, and certainly CAN be broken if The Walt Disney Company puts the right creative team in place going forward. $16M is a disappointing haul for Kermit and the gang, and that's a shame. But I digress, I'm here to share with you the new music video from the MUPPETS MOST WANTED Soundtrack, "I'll Get You What You Want (Cockatoo in Malibu)," performed by Oscar-winner Bret McKenzie.

Tomorrow, my friends at The Walt Disney Company will debut the new Disney Junior anthem, "DJ Shuffle," with the official music video set to appear on both Disney Channel and Disney Junior. While you'll have to wait until tomorrow to catch it on television, THE ROCK FATHER is proud to partner with Disney Junior to present the Exclusive Premiere, right here, right now! It was thirteen years ago that I bought THE FAINT's DANSE MACABRE? That's the realization that hit me tonight when browsing my emails to find the announcement that THE FAINT's first album since "ceasing to exist" in 2008 is about to hit the streets on April 8. DOOM ABUSE (pre-order now on iTunes) will be released by SQE Music, and today the music video for the first single hit the net. Check out "Help in the Head" below...

About a year ago, ALEX MITNICK (the "Alex" from ALEX & THE KALEIDOSCOPE BAND) became a "Rock Father" himself, ushering in the birth of his son, Baby Miles. In celebration of his little one, Alex has written an entire album for him (and you!) called LOVE SONGS FOR MY BABY. Set for release this Father's Day (also the anniversary of this site), Alex is giving listeners an early taste with the release of the first single, "Feelin' Fine." Check out the beautiful video below, and keep reading for details on how you can help spread the music, and score a FREE DOWNLOAD for your own collection!

Watch: DOG ON FLEAS - "I Must Be A Genius"

Next Tuesday, prolific kindie producer/multi-instrumentalist DEAN JONES and his band DOG ON FLEAS will release their latest album, BUY ONE GET ONE FLEA (pre-order on Amazon). The new record serves up 14 new tracks, with Jones and the gang stripping things back to basics, so much that he promises "the only electric things on this album are the bass guitar, and a wicked theremin solo." For an early taste, today comes the debut of "I Must Be A Genius," the first video spawned from the new album. Check out the new clip below...
