Autism Awareness Month: BRADY RYMER - "Love Me For Who I Am"
April is National Autism Awareness Month, and with April 2nd marking World Autism Awareness Day, now is the prime time to check out some music that was inspired by kids with special needs. GRAMMY-nominated performer BRADY RYMER's 2011 album, LOVE ME FOR WHO I AM - Songs Celebrating Children of All Abilities, was created to "send kids on the autism spectrum a message of self-confidence and empowerment through rock ‘n’ roll." Check out an all-new video about the record below...
FREE Download and New Video from THE NOT-ITS! - Let's Skateboard...
Seattle rockers, THE NOT-ITS! are the band behind the recently-released album, KidQuake! - a record that currently holds the title for "The Rock Father's favorite Kids & Family release of 2013." Will it hold through the end of the year? Time will have to tell on that one, but today comes the release of the second video from the album (see the "Busy" first one, here) with "Let's Skateboard."
Did KMFDM just self-release "fan-made" music videos?
This is pretty interesting... yesterday (a Saturday), KMFDM posts a Facebook update that reads "Brand-new KMFDM video here." The video in question is for "I Heart Not," a track from their newly-released album, KUNST. On the YouTube page, the video is clearly-labeled "KMFDM - 'I Heart Not' Official Video." It's even watermarked with the relevant info (artist/label/album/director). Fans on the Facebook page start panning the video, and all-of-a-sudden the public statistics and comments on YouTube are deleted, then turned off. Four hours later, KMFDM posts another Facebook update with another new video along with the following text: "Another brand new KMFDM video, like the one posted earlier it has had no input from us, they were made uncalled for by people that are into our music. Much appreciated !!" Sure it is.
Watch: RATBOY JR. - "Guitar Pickin' Chicken"
I recently received a copy of CHAMPIONS OF THE UNIVERSE, the recent album by New York State duo RATBOY JR. It's here in my insanely-growing queue of (mostly) great new Kids and Family music awaiting some proper coverage here on The Rock Father, and while that luchador on the cover (Santos?) keeps staring at me - seemingly growing angrier by the day - here comes a new music video from RATBOY JR. Check out "Guitar Pickin' Chicken" below.
