Having worked on movies in my "past lives," I would've never imagined that becoming a parent and starting this website would pull me back into that world, working things in a different capacity - from a different angle - and being placed into a position where others could share in the experience virtually through all of the social networks. But that's what's happened, and one of my biggest supporters with THE ROCK FATHER Magazine has been The Walt Disney Company, regularly inviting me to cover their projects (bringing me into Los Angeles on Mickey's dime, disclosure and all) and be a part of their promotional efforts. While each adventure is different, each is equally as exciting in its own way (though attending the Global Press Event for STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS may not be topped for me), and what's happening next week is no exception. I will join 24 other writers in L.A. for the #JungleBookEvent, interviewing the filmmakers and talent from the upcoming live-action reimagining of THE JUNGLE BOOK (in theaters April 15), an adventure that will be culminating in attending the red carpet premiere at the El Capitan Theatre - but that's not all...

On April 15, audiences will witness the live-action reimagining of Walt Disney's THE JUNGLE BOOK, a new telling of Rudyard Kipling's classic tale, inspired by the 1967 animated film. Today comes a brand-new clip, an "Intro to Shere Khan," the villainous tiger (voiced by Idris Elba) with eyes on Mowgli (Neel Sethi). Next month, I will be heading to Los Angeles to attend the film's red carpet premiere, and to meet with and interview the filmmakers and cast. Stay tuned for more on that shortly...

On April 15, 2016, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures will release a new, live-action telling of THE JUNGLE BOOK from director Jon Favreau (IRON MAN, SWINGERS). Today comes the release of a new triptych poster that can be seen as one widescreen vision (featured above), or as three separate sections (as seen below). Check it out....

When I think of Jon Favreau, I tend to think of his acting turns in films like Hart Bochner's PCU and Doug Liman's SWINGERS, followed by his directorial/acting work on smaller films like MADE (my wife and I had to seek out a theater for that one on opening weekend) or last year's excellent CHEF. I always tend to forget that it was Favreau that helmed ELF and the first two IRON MAN movies, and then it all makes sense that Disney put him behind the lens for their live-action reimagining of THE JUNGLE BOOK. As a fan of the original animated feature (reviewed here), I didn't really have a ton of interest in seeing it get a flesh-and-blood (and CGI) re-do, but after seeing the first teaser trailer, I'm on-board. Check this out...

THE ROCK FATHER's 2015 Movie Preview showcases select titles heading to theaters this year, as provided to us by studio representatives.

In THE JUNGLE BOOK, Newcomer Neel Sethi stars a Mowgli, a man-cub raised in the jungle by a family of wolves, who embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery when he’s forced to abandon the only home he’s ever known in this live-action reimagining of the 1967 Disney animated classic, based on the original Rudyard Kipling tale.
