The Emmy-nominated Splash and Bubbles has been captivating audiences on PBS Kids, and now, ahead of World Oceans Day the music of the popular series is coming home! The Jim Henson Company, Herschend Studios, and Music.Film Recordings are making a “Splash” to kick-off summer with the release of Splash and Bubbles: Rhythm of the Reef (Songs from Season One)Available on CD and digital June 1, the soundtrack album features 16 fan-favorite songs, along with 6 bonus tracks from the interstitial series “Get Your Feet Wet.” Now, the folks behind the series have partnered with The Rock Father™ for the exclusive premiere of the "Reeftown Rangers" music video, so gather the kids and crank it up!

Splash and Bubbles: Rhythm of the Reef (Songs from Season One) is the perfect summer beach-time album, full of funky, Motown-inspired tunes, with themes around marine science. The 16 series songs were written by award-winning composer Mike Himelstein (Sid the Science Kid, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Dinosaur Train) and feature the vocal talents of your favorite characters, including the show’s creator John Tartaglia as Splash, Leslie Carrara-Rudolph as Bubbles, Raymond Carr as Dunk, and Aymee Garcia as Ripple.

The album’s lead track, “Splash and Bubbles Theme Song” won “Best Song for a TV Series” at the 2017 Cynopsis Kids !magination Awards.

Splash and Bubbles: Rhythm of the Reef

Splash and Bubbles is a production of The Jim Henson Company and Herschend Studios. Created by John Tartaglia (Imaginocean, Johnny and the Sprites), the series is executive produced by Lisa Henson and Halle Stanford of The Jim Henson Company, Julie Phillips and Merrill Puckett Miller of Herschend Enterprises, as well as Tartaglia, Michael Shawn Lewis, and Jill Shinderman. The series is funded in part by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Splash and Bubbles airs daily on PBS KIDS and streams on Netflix.

In addition to the new album, this June will see the release of the Splash and Bubbles: One Big Ocean DVD and an entire series of storybooks from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. 

James Zahn

James Zahn is not a journalist, nor a blogger, though he may be credited as such by others, or even accept the title... depending on the circumstance.  Instead, he considers himself largely to be an "entertainment and lifestyle writer," bringing 25+ years of experience in the entertainment and publishing industries into the family realm as THE ROCK FATHER™.

James and/or his work have been featured in/on CNN, FOX Business, NBC, ABC, WGN, G4, The Chicago Tribune, BusinessWire, Babble, Fangoria, Starlog and more. He's appeared as a music expert on CNN's AC360 alongside Anderson Cooper, and has been interviewed by Larry King. In the past he served as a writer for the Netflix Stream Team,  Fandango Family and PBS KIDS, penned articles for Sprout and PopSugar, and was a contributor to Chicago Parent.
