You might know him as the bassist for Seattle's GRAMMY-nominated Recess Monkey, or perhaps as the host of "Live From the Monkey House" on SiriusXM's Kids Place Live. Now, Jack Forman is stepping out on his own with "Songs from the Monkey House," his first-ever solo album, available as an Amazon Original on September 29, 2017. Featuring a dozen songs that families will love (there's one that Star Wars fans are really gonna dig), today THE ROCK FATHER™ Magazine is hosting the world premiere of the lead-off track, "Dog Park" - a song written and performed from the perspective of a canine. Crank it up!

When it comes to family music, one of the most unique artists in the genre comes to us from Portland. Red Yarn has been spinning his sonic tale for a few years now, blending his vibrant brand of folk-infused Americana with a live show that features puppetry and storytelling. Now, with the release of his latest album, Born in the Deep Woods, Red Yarn completes his Deep Woods Trilogy, "an epic song cycle exploring the roots and branches of American folk music." Today, I'm happy to share the new video for "Mockingbird," a beautiful clip that includes Red Yarn rocking out with his 3-year-old son. I dig it, and think you will too. Check it out!
Back in September, Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee released her first album of family music, Dream Too Much. Along with the release came an animated video for the title track, now comes Dream Too Much: The Movie, a 27-minute longform video featuring the entire album in animated form. Available exclusively through Amazon, the new movie comes alongside the release of Amy's new single-track clip, "The End of the Book." See that one below...
This November, Keith Munslow and Bridget Brewer are set to release their first collaborative album of music for kids and families, with BIG BUNCHA BUDDIES. They've already been performing some of the new songs around Rhode Island, but until now, there hasn't been a formal taste of what to expect. With Halloween creeping-up, it's pretty appropriate that the first single to be released is one that's more... unleashed... from the crypt - a tale of "Jilly the Ghost!" You can't see her, but she sees you!
