DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD fans in neighborhoods from coast-to-coast will learn all about friendship and helping one another when PBS Distribution releases “Best of DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD: NEIGHBORHOOD FRIENDS COLLECTION,” the newest DVD featuring eight engaging stories from the hit PBS KIDS series, produced by The Fred Rogers Company.

On January 19, 2018, the Trolls obsession continues with a new Netflix Original Series from the crew at DreamWorks. Trolls: The Beat Goes On! picks up where the big-screen film left off, bringing a new series of colorful adventures and magical song to kids and families around the world. There are some changes to the Trolls this time around, but it tends to be the stuff that parents and hardcore fans (and trust me, Trolls has a growing legion!) will notice far before the kids do. Following both the film and recent Trolls Holiday Special, Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake step aside as Poppy and Branch (don't worry, they'll be back for Trolls 2 when it hits theaters in 2020) with Amanda Leighton (The Powerpuff Girls, This is Us) and Kendrick's Pitch Perfect co-star Skylar Astin (Wreck-It Ralph) stepping into those roles. But what if... hypothetically, it was yours truly voicing Branch instead of Skylar or Justin? Let's find out...

It was just within the last year or so that our daughters really discovered and became fans of Teen Titans GO! on Cartoon Network, and for me - a lifelong fan of DC Comics - it's been entertaining to see a new spin on some old characters, along with a bunch of new ones. Now, as much of the DC universe starts to cross-over into live-action film (or television), the Teen Titans are starting to feel a little left out. After all, if Aquaman and Shazam! can get their own films, why not this crew? It's pretty "meta," but that's exactly what they start to question in the teaser trailer for their first big-screen outing, Teen Titans GO! To The Movies, in theaters everywhere from Warner Bros. Pictures on July 27, 2018. Take a look...

Unlocking the Secrets of Star Wars: The Last Jedi...

Written by

Rian Johnson's Star Wars: The Last Jedi is no doubt a divisive installment of the Star Wars Saga, but it's one that our family loves and looks forward to seeing again. Having seen it twice on the big screen thus far (the second time in 4DX), there were nuances that didn't emerge until the second viewing, and as with all things Star Wars, there's much more left to be discovered. After all, Star Wars is not just film - but an ever-expanding tale that spans mediums, from books and games to comics and television, interlocking under the watchful eyes of the Lucasfilm Story Group, who make sure that the official continuity works. In the latest episode of The Star Wars Show, the crew sits down for an extra-long episode that unlocks some of the secrets of The Last Jedi. Take a look...

My wife is a massive fan of Zach Braff. That said, I almost felt bad when I was introduced to Mr. Braff at a dinner in Los Angeles two years ago and she wasn't there. In another adventure fit for a book I should probably one day write, I was dining with Larry King (we shot footage for a pilot together!) at Craig's, and over in a corner booth sat Zach Braff, Kate Hudson, and another gentleman whose name I missed. Larry says to our table "Do you like Zach Braff? Let me introduce you..." before leading the group over there for a nice conversation. I've never told that story online before, but it seems appropriate now since we've got the trailer for Alex, Inc., a new ABC series that's executive produced by, directed by and starring Zach Braff.

It's been more than 50 years since Stan Lee and Jack Kirby brought BLACK PANTHER to life in the pages of FANTASTIC FOUR #52. Now, after making his cinematic debut in Captain America: Civil War, T'Challa takes center stage in his own film, clawing its way into theaters on February 16. With a massive cast including Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, with Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis, BLACK PANTHER has been near the top of my must-see list for the year, and today comes a new featurette about how the character finally made the jump from the pages of Marvel comics to the big screen. Check it out!

On January 18, Fred Armisen, Carrie Brownstein and many more of Portlandia’s most loved and eccentric characters are back for a for their eighth and final season on IFC. Today we've got a new trailer for the last run, and we get a glimpse at where those weirdos from Oregon are headed as the curtain begins to fall. See it below...

I support vigilante justice... if done properly. Of course, such behavior is technically still illegal, but I think it's a reflection of our society that makes characters like Batman and The Punisher so empowering and inspiring. Now, from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures comes director Eli Roth’s reimagining of the 1974 revenge thriller Death Wish - a film that epitomized a certain brand of vigilante action. Bruce Willis stars as Dr. Paul Kersey - "a surgeon who only sees the aftermath of his city’s violence as it’s rushed into his ER – until his wife (Elisabeth Shue) and college-age daughter (Camila Morrone) are viciously attacked in their suburban home. With the police overloaded with crimes, Paul, burning for revenge, hunts for his family’s assailants to deliver justice. As the anonymous slayings of criminals grabs the media’s attention, the city wonders if this deadly avenger is a guardian angel…or a grim reaper." Check out the latest trailer below!

Scooby-Doo and Batman are Teaming Up Again...

Written by

Over the years, Batman has been known to team-up with Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. gang, a tradition that dates back to The New Scooby-Doo Movies of the early 1970s. In fact, I recall buying said episodes on VHS in the 1990s (I believe at a Suncoast or similar store in Chicago's Water Tower Place) as "Scooby-Doo Meets Batman & Robin." More recently, there was a 2011 episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold in which everyone came together in an homage to the stories from the 70s, but now they're back together again for an all-new movie. From Warner Bros. Animation and DC Comics comes Scooby-Doo! & Batman: The Brave and the Bold, arriving on DVD & Digital HD on January 9, 2018. Check out the trailer...

Back when the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) was in its original run (I still have yet to acquire an SNES Classic Edition), JVC and Lucasarts released a trio of games based on the Original Star Wars Trilogy. Super Star Wars (1992), Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1993) and Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (1994) rank among my favorite games for that system, and now there's a new video that recalls the excitement of those titles. From 16-bit animator John Stratman, here's Luke Skywalker facing off against Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Last Jedi... in classic SNES style!
