On April 16 (this Tuesday), Warner Bros. and Netherworld Games will release INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US, an epic fighting game set in the world of DC Comics. I've previously covered the game here on The Rock Father, and now comes news that Watertower Music will be releasing INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US - THE ALBUM (pre-order on iTunes), a companion to the game and it's original cinematic score (also up for pre-order on iTunes), available on launch day. Featuring tracks from AWOLNATION, RISE AGAINST, DEPECHE MODE, and more, full details on the record can be viewed below, complete with preview tracks...

FREE COMIC BOOK DAY is May 4th this year (also STAR WARS Day!), and while we didn't have the greatest experience at last year's Free Comic Book Day, I still get excited about a day devoted to sharing a love of comics with a new generation of readers. Now, my favorite comic book company has hit The Rock Father with news that their 2013 Free Comic Book Day offerings are being headlined by my all-time favorite hero...

I'm really kind of disturbed that I didn't know about this. Announced over a year ago... countless videos uploaded to YouTube (including some with Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes) racking up more than 12,000,000 plays... and starring my two favorite superheroes: SUPERMAN and BATMAN. How did I not find out about INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US until tonight? The video game hits all the major consoles (XBOX 360, Playstation 3, Wii U) next month, and looks great.

At this point, I am 100% convinced that any ploy to get me into a store - no matter how good the intention - will be capped off with some level of disappointment. I give you FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2012.

It's Saturday, May 5, 2012 - which means that it's FREE COMIC BOOK DAY! Yes, it's the annual day in which independent comic shops open their doors to readers new and old to dish out some free books for kids of all ages. While I don't agree with some of the marketing materials regarding the popularity of print comic books these days, I do think that this is an important day, and the perfect chance to take the kids to a local comic book store.
