We're in a magical time, folks. The original content from Netflix (an organization I'm privileged to be associated with as a member of their #StreamTeam) is coming faster than ever, and it just keeps getting better. From MARVEL's DAREDEVIL and JESSICA JONES, to CARE BEARS & COUSINS and THE POPPLES (oh yes), there's so much great stuff in the pipeline, and the Holiday season is certainly not immune to the Golden touch. Netflix just released a teaser for A VERY MURRAY CHRISTMAS, and it's truly a delight. If I didn't know better, I'd think that I felt a snowflake on my cheek while watching Bill Murray, Paul Shaffer, George Clooney, Miley Cyrus, Rashida Jones, Michael Cera and much of Hollywood having an adventure in NYC. Check it out...

Netflix Stream TeamOn November 20, the Netflix Original Series MARVEL's JESSICA JONES will make it's debut, with all episodes available to binge watch or spread out as you may choose. Today comes an official teaser - one that shows just a hint of the true power held by this ex-superhero turned-detective. Set in the MARVEL Cinematic Universe, JESSICA JONES is placed firmly in a world that we know will connect to other Netflix series' such as MARVEL's DAREDEVIL and the forthcoming LUKE CAGE. But an interesting tidbit - in the comics, Jessica Jones once dated Scott Lang, aka ANT-MAN. Does that mean we could see Paul Rudd appear? Not even a rumor, just my own wishful thinking...

Netflix #StreamTeamAs we move into Fall, there's a ton of great content arriving on Netflix in September, and THE ROCK FATHER Magazine has the full rundown on what's coming to the streaming service... and when. This month I'm also marking a collection of "Rock Father Picks," selections that I just dig for one reason or another. Some of those lean to the spookier side of things, because Halloween is just two months from today! Here's what's new on Netflix for September 2015...

Netflix #StreamTeamAdventure. Being parents of two little girls, adventure is something we witness daily - fueled by the kind of imaginative space that we only wish we could re-live. To be a kid and be able to view the world as an infinitely big space filled with mystery is something that I miss, but seeing the girls have those experiences is something to behold. The Netflix Original Series DRAGONS: RACE TO THE EDGE (set in the world of HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON) is all about adventure, too - and as a member of the Netflix #StreamTeam, a mystery box recently arrived here at Rock Father HQ... and guess what? It's contents were all about adventure, and they led to a special edition episode of UNBOXED for #RockFatherTV. Check this out...

#StreamTeamWhen it comes to the Netflix Original Series WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER: FIRST DAY OF CAMP, the cast is just so huge, I can't help but wonder how come I'm not in this thing? Seriously (or not), the cast is immense, and if the 8-episode mini-series (which debuts July 31st on Netflix) is anything like it's just-released trailer, the laughs will be immense as well. The sequel to the 2001 cult film features Elizabeth Banks, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, Judah Friedlander, Janeane Garofalo, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, Christopher Meloni, Marguerite Moreau, Zak Orth, Amy Poehler, David Hyde Pierce, ANT-MAN himself - Paul Rudd (look for my interview with him coming soon), Molly Shannon, and Michael Showalter, along with new characters played by Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig, John Slattery, and more. Check out the preview below, but be warned - this is solely For Grownups!

Netflix #StreamTeamThis week, my friends at Netflix released the results of a new survey that was conducted this Spring among subscribers of the streaming service in Brazil, Canada, Mexico, the UK, Germany, France, and of course, the US. The statistics that their new poll revealed have been reflected in the virtual pages of THE ROCK FATHER Magazine since day one, and in my Netflix columns since I joined the Stream Team just over a year ago: What's old is new again.  In fact,  85% of the dads surveyed said that they'd either planned to introduce their children to the shows they grew up on, or that they've done so already. For the modern generations, pop culture is the new "family heirloom," and it's being "passed down" by parents - dads and moms alike. That's certainly the case right here at Rock Father HQ.
