The Rock Father™ is a writer for the Netflix #StreamTeam & the Beat Bugs Dream Team
When the Netflix Original Series BEAT BUGS made its debut in 2016, families were quickly immersed in a vibrant new world inspired by the timeless music of THE BEATLES. Following the adventures of five best friends -- Jay, Kumi, Crick, Buzz and Walter -- who band together to discover life's most important lessons in an overgrown suburban backyard -- Beat Bugs encourages lessons of friendship and problem-solving while introducing a new generation to some of the greatest songs of all-time. Mixing classic and contemporary, here The Beatles' music is performed by an all-star line-up of artists including Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder, Pink, Robbie Williams, Sia, Rod Stewart, Regina Spektor, James Corden, and late Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell. With two seasons already streaming in full on Netflix, the Beat Bugs adventures are just getting started...
Ahead of the May 27 release of Disney's ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS comes a new music video from P!NK, "Just Like Fire." The new track is one of a pair that P!NK recorded for Tim Burton's new film, among them a cover of Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit." Interestingly, only "Just Like Fire" appears on the official soundtrack release, also hitting CD and Digital on the 27th along with selections from Danny Elfman's original score.
On May 27, Disney's ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS will reunite audiences with the familiar characters from ALICE IN WONDERLAND as they prepare for another great adventure. This time around, P!NK will provide and original song for the film (a compliment to composer Danny Elfman's original score) in addition to a cover of JEFFERSON AIRPLANE's 1967 hit, "White Rabbit." Check out a featurette with P!NK in the studio...
Two years ago, news hit that an Australian/U.S. Production company called GRACE had made an unheard-of deal with Sony Music/ATV Publishing to use THE BEATLES' song catalog in a children's series. Now comes the news that BEAT BUGS will debut as a Netflix Original Series this August, presenting over 50 famous songs of THE BEATLES, reimagined by artists such as PEARL JAM's Eddie Vedder, SOUNDGARDEN's Chris Cornell, Sia, Pink, Regina Spektor, The Shins and more - all woven into a world set in a suburban backyard. Check out a teaser and full details below!
You know what I just realized? ROCK BAND has 4,134 songs available for in-game play as of this writing. That's an insane amount of tracks available for a game series that's already over five years old. As always, they've got new DLC hitting this Tuesday, and those browsing the ROCK BAND Music Store can look forward to new tracks from MAROON 5 featuring CHRISTINA AGUILERA, FOSTER THE PEOPLE, and FOO FIGHTERS. I've got the full details right here on The Rock Father below, along with details on last weeks additions (ANDREW W.K., fun., PINK, etc.) since I missed them with the turn of the New Year.
