PBS KIDS VIP (Very Involved Parent)On Monday, February 15, 2016, PBS KIDS will invite kids ages 3-8 to explore new words of science and astronomy in READY JET GO!  A CGI animated series that will help children learn astronomy and Earth science concepts, READY JET GO! will launch with a full program of content related to the series, including games, hands-on activities and parent resources, all available in early 2016 as well. This news became public at the PBS Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas this week.

While I had to miss this year's meeting, the news is still flowing, and today comes the full details on this Fall's next big hit, NATURE CAT! First reported here on THE ROCK FATHER back in January, NATURE CAT is a new series from creators David Rudman (“Cookie Monster” and “Baby Bear” on SESAME STREET; “Scooter” and “Janice” on THE MUPPETS) and Adam Rudman (TOM & JERRY, SESAME STREET, CYBERCHASE), that aims to encourage children ages 3-8 to explore and develop connections with the natural world. PBS KIDS VIP - Very Involved ParentThe PBS KIDS digital series OH NOAH! is expanding its offerings with new animated videos and games that introduce Spanish in an entertaining way. Launched on April 30  – a day to honor and celebrate children known as El Día de los Niños – new OH NOAH! content includes an immersive language learning game, “Lost and Found,” and a new 11-minute video, “Making a Splash.” In addition, all OH NOAH! content is now accessible on mobile and tablet devices via http://pbskids.org/noah/

PBS KIDS VIP (Very Involved Parent)PBS KIDS today announced the launch of Kart Kingdom, the children’s media brand’s first-ever online world. Now available at pbskids.org/kartkingdom, Kart Kingdom features a collection of fun, curriculum-based games that help kids ages 6-9 learn systems thinking skills. The game also helps children build collaboration skills as they work together to create gadgets and unlock rewards for the entire Kart Kingdom community. In another first, PBS KIDS’ Kart Kingdom features a new junior edition of E-line Media’s Gamestar Mechanic, which allows kids to create, play and share their own digital games. PBS stations will bring Kart Kingdom into the community with live game events across the U.S. starting this spring.

PEG + CAT Gets Picked-Up for Season Two...

PBS KIDS VIP (Very Involved Parent)The Fred Rogers Company has just announced production of a second season of PEG + CAT for PBS KIDS. Set to premiere on PBS KIDS in the Spring of 2016, the new season of the multiple Emmy Award-winning animated series for preschoolers will feature 25 engaging new episodes, including a hilarious one-hour special highlighting the musical math adventures of the intrepid Peg and her loyal sidekick, Cat. In addition, PEG + CAT will introduce fun new interactive games and digital storybooks on PBS KIDS digital platforms, using the series’ hallmark humor to showcase early math skills for young fans.
