Sure, they might've broken up in 2005, but that hardly stopped ROCKET FROM THE CRYPT from reuniting last Fall for a one-off performance geared toward the kindie set. The performance was for YO GABBA GABBA!, and tonight it's hit the web via Volcom as part of their partnership with the Nick Jr. hit on a line of clothing and accessories. Watch the video for "He's a Chef" below, then hit Volcom Retailers on September 21st to snag a limited-edition 7" copy of the song, which also features Biz Markie and FLAMING LIPS' Wayne Coyne rockin' the B-side.
We're not a DORA THE EXPLORER household since the girls are a bit too young to have really latched onto the craze. That said, I know the basic gist of the popular Nickelodeon show, hence anyone else that does should also have no problem appreciating the following: DORA and DIEGO blowing s$%t up in live action. Check out College Humor's DORA THE EXPLORER: THE SEARCH FOR THE INFINITY ORB below the jump. And just in case, yes it's a parody.
My daughter isn't old enough to really get into DORA THE EXPLORER, and in this case I'm glad. Cruising past the baby department at my local Super Walmart this evening, I took a closer look at something that's only been seen from the corner of my eye in the past: The Dora the Explorer Toddler Booster Car Seat. I find it highly disturbing that it appears a child is sitting on Dora, or that Dora is somehow assimilating toddlers like those aliens on the syndicated WAR OF THE WORLDS TV Show back in the late 80's.
Since I've never covered Nickelodeon's KIDS' CHOICE AWARDS before (in any of my past writing gigs), I have to make the somewhat obvious statement that it looks more like the ''Tween Choice Awards.'' We tend to be a Sprout house (though Nickjr. does have a few good shows), and I like to remember Nickelodeon as being the place for shows like PINWHEEL, MR. WIZARD'S WORLD, TODAY'S SPECIAL, and FINDERS KEEPERS. But, that was 30 years ago and Nick is a different game these days. With the announcement of the nominees for their 2012 Kids' Choice Awards last week, let's take a look at a few of the music-centric categories.
