Last week, I took you inside DreamWorks Animation for a sneak-preview of DreamWorks' Trolls: The Beat Goes On! Now that the first season of the series (and yes, there will be a second - I can confirm that) has been released for streaming on Netflix, it's time to delve even deeper into the world of the Trolls, and that means going off-screen to look at the latest toys from my friends at Hasbro, who are bringing Troll Village to life with a whole new collection. DreamWorks and Hasbro recently sent us an assortment for review here in The Toy Testing Facility at Rock Father HQ, but before we get going on that, lets first take a look at the new Trolls: The Beat Goes On! Season 1 Featurette, in which Skylar Astin (voice of Branch) and Amanda Leighton (voice of Poppy) throw down some details about their new adventures...

I am notoriously "anti-football." After enjoying the sport as a child, I completely lost interest in high school, and as an adult have come to largely despise the game and much of the culture that surrounds it. That said, I still find myself able to enjoy some football-based entertainment (movies like Wildcats, Necessary Roughness, Any Given Sunday), and now I'm intrigued by a documentary series that I had no idea was coming - despite my association with the Netflix Stream Team. Coach Snoop follows legendary rapper Snoop Dogg as he ventures outside the studio and onto the field as he coaches a team of teenagers in the Snoop Youth Football League. The eight-episode season offers an intimate look at Snoop and the players as they chase a championship and deal with adversity off the field. Check out the trailer below...

On January 19, 2018, the Trolls obsession continues with a new Netflix Original Series from the crew at DreamWorks. Trolls: The Beat Goes On! picks up where the big-screen film left off, bringing a new series of colorful adventures and magical song to kids and families around the world. There are some changes to the Trolls this time around, but it tends to be the stuff that parents and hardcore fans (and trust me, Trolls has a growing legion!) will notice far before the kids do. Following both the film and recent Trolls Holiday Special, Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake step aside as Poppy and Branch (don't worry, they'll be back for Trolls 2 when it hits theaters in 2020) with Amanda Leighton (The Powerpuff Girls, This is Us) and Kendrick's Pitch Perfect co-star Skylar Astin (Wreck-It Ralph) stepping into those roles. But what if... hypothetically, it was yours truly voicing Branch instead of Skylar or Justin? Let's find out...

A new year brings new entertainment, and tonight comes the first-look at Netflix are already on fire, breaking out some new trailers for 2018's original series. The End of the F**king World is a dark comedy from across the pond, touted with a simple dangle that "this isn’t your usual boy meets girl tale." Based upon the graphic novel by Charles Forsman, this series first arrived in the UK this past fall, a story of "a budding teenage psychopath and a rebel hungry for adventure." See the U.S. trailer below.

Netflix #StreamTeamOn Friday, December 22, there's a new Netflix Original Series making its debut that's a perfect binge for the holiday break. THE TOYS THAT MADE US is an all-new look at some of the most iconic toy lines of all-time, and they're rolling out the first season with some heavy hitters. While it's not embeddable (yet), a full trailer just launched on Netflix (see it here), and in honor of the release of STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI, a special sneak-preview of the Star Wars episode was released as well (see that below). In fact, amid all that vintage Kenner glory, you just might see a shot of yours-truly when the episode streams this Friday. I provided them with something that may be in there, but that's just a tiny piece of the overall puzzle. From Hasbro's G.I. Joe & Transformers to Mattel's Barbie and He-Man and The Masters of the Universe, there's a lot of history about to be told, with additional season one episodes set to focus on Hello Kitty, Star Trek and LEGO.

For the past few years, DreamWorks Animation has been quietly growing an empire on the television front, delivering an incredible amount of original content to Netflix. Thus far, much of that content has been in the film-to-television realm, adapting the characters from their feature films into episodic series, and the next one to hit the scene is Trolls. Following the massive success of the recent film and just-released Holiday Special, Trolls: The Beat Goes On! will come to Netflix on January 19, 2018 with season one streaming in its entirety.  Check out the official trailer below, along with some early details on a few new series coming next year, including a pair based on Boss Baby and Captain Underpants!
