Last week, the folks at Hulu gave us an early preview of Jim Henson's DOOZERS, with my little ones and I enjoying five episodes right here at Rock Father HQ. Like many of you who are parents now, I grew up in the 1980s, and the original HBO run of FRAGGLE ROCK was a big part of that experience. It was immersive, imaginative, and something special that became unforgettable. While the Fraggles may have been the namesake stars, I always wondered about the Doozers. Their architecture and engineering skills were always impressive (and according to the Fraggles, delicious), but I don't think it was ever really revealed why they were building all of those radish-flavored structures.

MUPPETS MOST WANTED hit theaters this weekend, and from what I'm hearing, failed to heat up the box office, bringing in just $16.5M compared to the nearly $30M opening weekend for THE MUPPETS a few years back. Despite my deep, deep love for The Muppets, I have not made it out with Addie to see the new film just yet, and maybe that's the case with a lot of parents. Or maybe it's that on the surface (or perhaps deeper), MUPPETS MOST WANTED suffers from what many Muppets projects have in recent years - a lack of originality that finds the group always trying to save a theater or have a caper. It's a cycle that needs to be broken, and certainly CAN be broken if The Walt Disney Company puts the right creative team in place going forward. $16M is a disappointing haul for Kermit and the gang, and that's a shame. But I digress, I'm here to share with you the new music video from the MUPPETS MOST WANTED Soundtrack, "I'll Get You What You Want (Cockatoo in Malibu)," performed by Oscar-winner Bret McKenzie.

On March 21, Disney's MUPPETS MOST WANTED will arrive in theaters, presenting the Muppets in an all-new big-screen adventure. Now, I have sort of a long-running fixation history with the Muppets, dating back to my early years in the late 1970s. In fact, my wife just mentioned that again tonight... saying something to the effect of "The Muppets are the cornerstone of your entire being." Perhaps. But before we get to the brand-new "Game Day" Extended TV Spot, let's just say that Kermit the Frog and I have a bond that's lasted over 37 years...

PBS KIDS VIP AmbassadorLast week, the world was introduced to the newest neighbor on SESAME STREET, a Writer from Puerto Rico named Armando - or 'Mando as the folks on the 'Street quickly dubbed him. The introduction of this new character is part of a focus on Hispanic Heritage and Diversity that plays a key role in the forthcoming 44th season of the iconic series on PBS KIDS. Mando (Ismael Cruz Cordova) joins Maria (Sonia Manzano), Luis (Emilio Delgado) and Muppets Rosita and Ovejita (Carmen Osbahr) as part of SESAME STREET's bilingual community. This week, my adventures took me to the famed Fontainebleau hotel in Miami Beach, where I joined my fellow PBS KIDS VIP (Very Involved Parent) Ambassadors at the 2013 PBS Annual Meeting. There, I spent some time with Mando and Rosita... and just may have found the answer to that age-old question: "Can You Tell Me How to Get to SESAME STREET?"
