Fandango FamilyWith the 2015 Summer Movie Season really heating up in July, I've taken some time as a member of the Fandango Family Digital Network (paid gig, disclosure and all) to take a look at what's coming up in the weeks ahead. From 4,000+ screen blockbusters to indies playing in limited release, there's roughly eighty (yes, 80!) new titles hitting cinema screens over the next month. I'm highlighting eleven of those movies here on THE ROCK FATHER Magazine, calling out a few "Rock Father Picks," Wildcards, and perhaps even... a flop. But that's not all, friends! Fandango and I are giving YOU a chance to score a $100 Fandango Gift Card so that your family can enjoy some movies this summer (at participating theaters). Let's rock...

FANDANGOI wish I'd reviewed Doug Ellin's big-screen ENTOURAGE a week ago, if only because there needs to be at least somewhat of a counterbalance to the trendy pile-on of critics bashing the film for being exactly what it should be. It was last Monday that I (as a member of the Fandango Family Digital Network), along with three friends, headed into Chicago proper for an advance screening of the film at the Kerasotes ShowPlace ICON. As a quartet of fans that have been missing the EMMY-winning series (which ended its run on HBO in 2011), the cinematic tale played like a reunion of old friends, picking up a mere nine days from where we left off, unfolding like a feature-length episode of the show that we all held dear.

FANDANGO FAMILY DIGITAL NETWORKFrom the world of DESPICABLE ME comes MINIONS, a prequel tracing the origins of the devious, yet lovable little creatures in the years before Gru. Out July 10th via Universal Pictures/Illumination Entertainment, the MINIONS' adventure will take them on a journey to 1960s New York City and the Mod streets of London - and today the most revealing trailer for the film thus far has been released. MINIONS leads the charge among the Top Five Most Anticipated Family Films of the summer in a recent poll of Fandango Moviegoers, and is a film near the top of our own "must-see" list here at Rock Father HQ. In fact, I have something very rare in the MINIONS world right here in my own office... a one-of-a-kind sculpture from the design team at MEGA BLOKS, who recently began selling building kits based on the growing franchise. Check out the new trailer below...

Fandango Family"I Love Movies." That's a very true statement for me, and for many of you as well. It's also the name of the first new digital series from FANDANGO MOVIECLIPS, the first episode of which arrived today, featuring NBA star DWIGHT HOWARD of the Houston Rockets sharing a few words about his favorite movie, the 2003 Disney•Pixar classic, FINDING NEMO. This first episode is just a taste of things to come, as I LOVE MOVIES will soon present appearances by Reba McEntire, Tony Hawk, Evander Holyfield, Slash, Darius Rucker, Al Roker and my new friend, Larry King. Check out Dwight's installment below...
