Disney•Pixar's Coco is a beautiful film - a critically-acclaimed hit that has managed to win over audiences around the world and here in the U.S. where it topped the box office for three straight weeks. Coco is also a very musical film, one that captures the cultural flair of its Mexican backdrop, opening up a new world of sound for many. When you think about guitars that are also "movie merchandise," the first thing that comes to mind are usually little more than toys with strings - but for Coco an opportunity was present to do something special, and that's exactly what's happened with the Disney•Pixar Coco x Córdoba Collection. Available now at Guitar Center, this new assortment of real guitars is inspired by Coco, and priced and sized just right for both beginning players, or experienced guitar slingers looking for the perfect travel-sized guitar!
I'm a little bummed. Back in July, one of the many highlights of Disney's D23 Expo in Anaheim was an early look at footage from Disney•Pixar's INCREDIBLES 2 during the animation panel. In it, we got a glimpse at a few things, one of which I can certainly relate to - Mr. Incredible as an at-home dad, and what happens when he falls asleep and the kids start to play. That footage has never been seen outside of Hall D23, and with the release of the first public teaser for INCREDIBLES 2, you're still not getting to see it... at least not yet. Ahead of its theatrical debut alongside COCO later this week, take a look at the INCREDIBLES 2 teaser below!

Earlier this morning, visitors to the ShopDisney website (an affiliate) started seeing an advertisement for something interesting on the "New" page. Disney Store's TOYBOX action figures are touted as making their debut in-store and online on Friday, November 3, 2017. "Get ready to interact with PIXAR, Star Wars and Marvel characters like never before," it says. With no formal announcement yet, what's particularly notable is that the two figures featured are of Rey and a First Order Stormtrooper from Star Wars: The Last Jedi... but that they're styled almost exactly like their video game counterparts where in the long-shuttered Disney Infinity. Here at our house, the figures from that game are still in-use, and just yesterday our youngest daughter was playing with the Star Wars ones. There's a huge appeal in those designs.
One of our favorite movies of 2017 is finally coming home. Disney•Pixar's Cars 3 races home Digitally in HD and 4K Ultra HD™ on Oct. 24, and on Blu-ray 4K Ultra HD™ and Blu-ray™ on Nov. 7. The news came down today in an announcement timed to honor world-champion racer Lightning McQueen - #95 - on his date-sake 9/5. The film surged to the front of the pack opening weekend, with audiences racing to see the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and spirited trainer Cruz Ramirez (voice of Cristela Alonzo) team up to beat the new generation of blazing-fast racers. Now, this summer’s high-octane hit cruises home—loaded with bonus features like the all new mini-movie starring the demolition derby legend Miss Fritter.
At the recent D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, John Lasseter, Chief Creative Officer of Disney Animation took to the stage in Hall D23 (introduced by Alan Horn, pictured above) to give audiences some new insight into what's coming down the pipeline from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar and DisneyToon Studios. I was in attendance for the presentation (I was tweeting live from the floor) and got a first-hand look at some incredible things that were shown for the very first time - some of which can be shared with you now, while others you'll have to wait to see. What's certain is that there's a stellar lineup ahead, including some much-requested new chapters of fan-favorite franchises, along with some completely unexpected new films. Here's the details...
