Star Wars Rebels

I'm an original STAR WARS fan. My relationship with George Lucas' saga dates back to my earliest days, fueling my childhood and helping to shape me into adulthood. I've worked on a movie about STAR WARS... recorded a song about STAR WARS... and at one point, had an entire room full of STAR WARS toys. I wish I'd never sold them, as I'm now a parent, and the next generation of STAR WARS fans is here. While many feared that the prequel trilogy would be STAR WARS for future audiences, the franchise is officially back on-track under the ownership of Disney, and while old folks like me eagerly await the 2015 release of J.J. Abrams' STAR WARS: EPISODE VII, the newly-launched STAR WARS REBELS proves that our beloved saga is in good hands. After seeing an early screening of STAR WARS REBELS: SPARK OF REBELLION ahead of it's recent Disney Channel Premiere, I'm confident that this is my daughter's STAR WARS. And now, we've got it on DVD thanks to an Exclusive early release at Walmart.

I don't know about you, but with every preview released, I get more excited - it just looks better every day, and it feels like STAR WARS. Set between Episodes III and IV, STAR WARS REBELS looks to be a great new series for STAR WARS fans as we eagerly await the release of J.J. Abrams' STAR WARS: EPISODE VII next year. Take a look at a new STAR WARS REBELS short, "The Machine in the Ghost," along with some extended previews and other goodies in the player below. The Force is strong with this one...

One of the smartest things that the folks behind Disney Junior's SOFIA THE FIRST have done is to connect the Kingdom of Enchancia to other, more familiar Disney Kingdoms - but it's Sofia's Amulet that really ties things together and helps to bridge the Magical World of Disney by bringing in some famous friends to assist when the time is right. When presented with challenges, Sofia is able to use The Amulet of Avalor to summon a more experienced princess, and in THE ENCHANTED FEAST, it's Snow White that answers the call.

Fans at Comic-Con International in San Diego have no shortage of The Force this week, with some pretty incredible STAR WARS-themed offerings around every turn. The buzz is big for Disney's STAR WARS REBELS, and a new two-and-a-half minute look at the upcoming animated series has been released, and while there's a lot of goodies for new fans and old ones alike, I think we can all agree that C-3PO and R2-D2 just tie the whole Saga together. Take a look...
