Trailer - BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE!

The Force is strong with JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE! Just days after the debut of the first trailer for CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, and a week out from a full STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS special, last night brought forth the debut of a full-length trailer for BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE - a film not part of the Disney ABC family, but from rival Warner Bros. Kimmel is the go-to spot for trailer debuts right now, and this new look at BATMAN v SUPERMAN is setting the 'net a buzz this morning. Check it out below, your first on-screen look at Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill) fighting alongside Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot)...

If there wasn't a certain film called STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS set for release this December, I'd try using my time-shaper to fast-forward right to March 25, 2016 to see my two favorite superheroes battle it out on the big screen. See, BATMAN v. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE has me conflicted, if only because SUPERMAN was my favorite superhero during my religious reading of comic books in the 1980s... but then Tim Burton's 1989 BATMAN film bumped the caped crusader into the top spot, where he's forever remained. Personally, I believe it's because my own personality is closer to that of BATMAN and his alter-ego, BRUCE WAYNE... but knowing that they'll be going head-to-head is still a weird thing - but one I look forward to. Today, EMPIRE Magazine unleashed a trio of new images that will be featured in their September issue (get it here). Take a look...

According to Director Zack Snyder, the "big rule" he and his team on BATMAN v. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE "broke" was putting Gotham City and Metropolis next to each other. "They're sister cities - it's like Oakland vs. San Francisco," he states. This new dynamic was on display in new footage unveiled as part of an all-new trailer at Comic-Con International by Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Comics, bringing out an appearance by the cast of the film, which hits theaters on March 25, 2016. Check it out below, right here on THE ROCK FATHER Magazine!

Sorry, MARVEL. Despite my massive love for the MARVEL Cinematic Universe and all the care that my friends at Disney have been putting into their big screen adaptations, when it comes to comics, I grew up a DC kid. SUPERMAN and BATMAN were always my favorites as a kid, and they're still my favorites today. That said, following a cellphone leak of a subtitled trailer ahead of Monday's special IMAX event, Warner Bros has taken appropriate measures with the official online release of the first teaser for BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE. With Henry Cavill reprising his role as the MAN OF STEEL, and Ben Affleck picking up the cowl as THE DARK KNIGHT, the film sets the stage for the forthcoming JUSTICE LEAGUE film. Based on the two minutes seen here - I like it. I enjoy the darkness... the bleakness... and the way that Director Zack Snyder continues the path carved by his first SUPERMAN effort by emphasizing the foreign - alien - nature of Kal-El. Borrowing from Christopher Nolan's Bat-world, remember when Harvey Dent pointed out that "the night is always darkest just before dawn?" I think that applies here. Take a look...

BvSAs a kid who grew up on SUPERMAN as his #1 hero (though eventually, BATMAN took over), I loved Zack Snyder's MAN OF STEEL. Now, with BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE on the way, we're about to see SUPERMAN team-up with a new BATMAN, along with WONDER WOMAN and potentially a whole lot of other heroes as the JUSTICE LEAGUE takes shape. With filming taking place in Michigan right now, it's likely the "spy" pics are coming, and with that, Warner Bros. has released the first image of Henry Cavill as SUPERMAN from the new film. The costume has some tweaks, too - making it a lot closer to the comic books, with little flourishes and details making it different... yet the same. See the photo below, which was provided via Warner Bros. Entertainment. Credit goes out to Clay Enos for the shot (and click for Super high-res)...

First-Look: Ben Affleck as BATMAN...

BATMAN VS SUPERMANAs first teased yesterday when Director Zack Synder promised to "pull the tarp," today comes not only a look at the new Batmobile for his upcoming MAN OF STEEL sequel (BATMAN Vs. SUPERMAN - until the title changes), but the first-look at Ben Affleck in the all-new Batsuit. Quite simply, I'm digging it. This is the closest thing we've ever seen to a true, comic book-style Batman that carries a lot of that DARK KNIGHT RETURNS vibe. Take a peek...
