Warner Bros.' The LEGO Batman Movie has proven to be one of 2017's biggest hits - a follow-up to 2014's The LEGO Movie, but one with perhaps even more appeal to families that embrace the desire for adventure. Like it's predecessor, our kids have had a desire to take the film with them, and that's something we've seen from the start. When General Motors showed off the Chevrolet version of The LEGO Movie Batmobile at The Chicago Auto Show back in February, my oldest daughter was right there rockin' her LEGO Batman backpack. When a LEGO Batgirl costume popped up at Walmart - the girls had to have it. And by summer, the movie was available on Digital HD, and the girls insisted that it be added to the iPad for the road. In fact, on our June trip to the lake house in Wisconsin, we traveled with a LEGO Batman pack.

We seem to have entered an era where drastic production changes amidst unusual circumstances are becoming commonplace, and the fall's JUSTICE LEAGUE is no exception. With Zack Synder stepping aside to tend to family matters, Joss Whedon is at the helm, and today comes a new look at some iconic heroes as they get ready to fight a major battle. Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg are all here... and did we just get our first hint that Superman returns? Take a look...

The death of Adam West last weekend was a shock to many, and with tributes pouring out around the world, perhaps the greatest and most creative is yet to come. Tomorrow night, Thursday, June 15, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and Police Department Chief Charlie Beck will join surprise Bat-guests for a ceremonial lighting of the Bat-signal at City Hall's Spring Street Steps: 200 N Spring St, Los Angeles, CA 90012. The action takes place promptly at 9pm.

After a San Diego Comic-Con sneak-preview last summer, the first official trailer for Warner Bros' JUSTICE LEAGUE is finally here. This long-awaited installment of the DC Extended Universe will arrive in theaters this November, uniting Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller), and while he's absent from this trailer and the marketing, you can bet we see a rebirth of Superman (Henry Cavill) at some point. After all, while he was sacrificed at the end of last year's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, the familiar "S" is present on the film's official website, and it's long-been known that Kal-El never stays down for long. Check out the trailer below...

2017 CAS LogoAs The LEGO Batman Movie soars into theaters this weekend, it's pretty appropriate that The Batmobile is in the Windy City. After all, Chicago doubled for Gotham City back when Christopher Nolan was crafting his Dark Knight Trilogy. Thing is, this Batmobile is a much different beast. The 2017 LEGO Batmobile from Chevrolet made its official debut in Detroit last month, a life-sized replica of "The Speedwagon" driven by LEGO Batman (voiced by Will Arnett) in the new film. Now, that ride, crafted from a total of 344,187 LEGO bricks supported by a square-tube aluminum frame, is sitting in McCormick Place, the result of 222 hours of design time, and 1,833 hours of construction by LEGO Master Builders. For it's appearance at The Chicago Auto Show, the LEGO Batmobile sits in front of a brick wall illuminated by moving Bat (and Chevy) signals, each zeroing in on LEGO Batman himself! As a bonus, kids can take part in their very own LEGO Batmobile mini-build, available for free to take home! We had a chance to check out the full display during the Media Preview - take a look...

September 17, 2016 has been declared to be the third-annual "Batman Day" by the folks at DC Comics - a 24-hour celebration of all-things Batman. One of the interesting things about the character is that it works in so many forms - from the colorful camp of The Caped Crusaders of the 1960s, to the ominous tones of Alan Moore's THE KILLING JOKE or Frank Miller's THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS, there's many shades of grey and black. Zack Snyder's BATMAN v. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE introduced a new version of the character - one familiar, but still like nothing previously seen in live-action... a real brawler. We'd soon find out that Ben Affleck's Batman had faced-off against Jared Leto's Joker (seen in David Ayer's SUICIDE SQUAD), but as a hypothetical - what if The Joker had the upper hand? My friends at Entertainment Earth recently served-up their SDCC Exclusive Batman v. Superman: The Joker's Wild Batman 19" Big Figs Action Figure by JAKKS Pacific at San Diego Comic-Con International, but with a few left (one of which they sent to Rock Father HQ), we decided that teaming-up for a Batman Day Giveaway was the way to go! One lucky reader of THE ROCK FATHER™ Magazine will score this fantastic figure (a $60 value)! Enter below...
