The annual Batman Day may take place on September 15th each year, but on September 19, the City of Walla Walla, Washington will once again honor a man whose portrayal of the Caped Crusader has been loved by generations. The Second Annual Adam West Day will find Walla Walla paying tribute to the life of its favorite son — known the world over as Batman and later the voice of Mayor Adam West on the show The Family Guy — in a way that only West’s hometown can.

By this time back in 1989, thanks to Tim Burton's feature film, it was the Summer of BATMAN and by year's end, Bat-fever was everywhere. Just days before Christmas, Sunsoft released Batman: The Video Game for the Nintendo Entertainment System, and nearly 30 years later it's still looked upon fondly as a classic game from the era. Now, the color scheme and spirit of that 8-Bit goodness is inspiring Entertainment Earth's latest SDCC-exclusive figure from Funko to be officially revealed right here on The Rock Father™ Magazine! The Batman Video Game Deco 8-Bit Pop! Vinyl Figure* will make its debut at San Diego Comic-Con 2018 at the Entertainment Earth Booth #2343, and I've got your official first-look as an affiliate partner of Entertainment Earth...

Scooby-Doo and Batman are Teaming Up Again...

Over the years, Batman has been known to team-up with Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. gang, a tradition that dates back to The New Scooby-Doo Movies of the early 1970s. In fact, I recall buying said episodes on VHS in the 1990s (I believe at a Suncoast or similar store in Chicago's Water Tower Place) as "Scooby-Doo Meets Batman & Robin." More recently, there was a 2011 episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold in which everyone came together in an homage to the stories from the 70s, but now they're back together again for an all-new movie. From Warner Bros. Animation and DC Comics comes Scooby-Doo! & Batman: The Brave and the Bold, arriving on DVD & Digital HD on January 9, 2018. Check out the trailer...

When I first heard that Funko would be tackling the 1966 Batman license with a new set of 3.75" action figures, I'd imagined an approach on-par with the Reaction line that they'd worked on with Super7 for awhile. Having only glanced at the pictures in passing, the packaging artwork registered, and again I was thinking that these were going to be in the vintage Kenner style - "5POA" as some call it, with toys designed as they would've been in decades past. I would've dug that on its own, but shame on me for not noticing how detailed the line really is, with super-articulated figures that you have to see for yourself (like me) to truly appreciate. We have a few of these, and I can tell you that this is one cool line.

Enter the BATMAN: THE ENEMY WITHIN Sweepstakes!

"How deep into the darkness will you let Bruce Wayne descend?" That's just one of the questions posited in BATMAN: THE ENEMY WITHIN, the latest chapter from the award-winning studio behind Batman - The Telltale Series. It's a new story in which both Bruce Wayne and Batman will be forced into precarious new roles. The Riddler has returned to terrorize Gotham City, but his gruesome puzzles merely foreshadow an even greater crisis. With the arrival of a ruthless federal agent and the return of a still nascent Joker, Batman must navigate uneasy alliances while Bruce Wayne undertakes a perilous series of deceptions. Now, The Rock Father™ andd EMG have teamed-up to hail this new game with a sweepstakes in which you could win big with a tricked-out new Alienware PC, or STEAM Codes for BATMAN: THE ENEMY WITHIN. Will you take a chance?

Warner Bros.' The LEGO Batman Movie has proven to be one of 2017's biggest hits - a follow-up to 2014's The LEGO Movie, but one with perhaps even more appeal to families that embrace the desire for adventure. Like it's predecessor, our kids have had a desire to take the film with them, and that's something we've seen from the start. When General Motors showed off the Chevrolet version of The LEGO Movie Batmobile at The Chicago Auto Show back in February, my oldest daughter was right there rockin' her LEGO Batman backpack. When a LEGO Batgirl costume popped up at Walmart - the girls had to have it. And by summer, the movie was available on Digital HD, and the girls insisted that it be added to the iPad for the road. In fact, on our June trip to the lake house in Wisconsin, we traveled with a LEGO Batman pack.
