2014 marks 50 years of A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS airing on television, first on CBS (boy, do I remember eagerly awaiting the start of it as a kid, when it would be prefaced by this groovy intro) and now on ABC. After making it's latest bow earlier this month, ABC will air A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS once more on Tuesday, December 16 at 8:00PM EST/PST (though it's always available on Blu-ray and DVD). To celebrate the big 5-0 ahead of next year's PEANUTS movie (see a trailer here), Kohl's, Target and Old Navy have rolled-out some exclusive Peanuts apparel for the holidays, and THE ROCK FATHER is proud to team-up with Santa Snoopy to help get your family outfitted! Check out the assortment below, and then enter for your chance to win!*
Last year, Disney•Pixar’s TOY STORY OF TERROR! found Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and a whole bunch of familiar friends from the TOY STORY movies in a new and precarious situation when it made it's debut on ABC. This year, TOY STORY OF TERROR! slides into 31 Days of Halloween here on THE ROCK FATHER, thanks to a fantastic home release on Blu-Ray + Digital HD Combo Pack (and standalone DVD), making this modern Halloween tradition available year-round.
Now this is pretty interesting... and a fantastic move by Disney. The mouse-owned ABC will air STAR WARS REBELS: SPARK OF REBELLION in a special presentation on October 26 at 7pm e/p, but with an additional scene featuring the undisputed king of STAR WARS villains, DARTH VADER.
"This is how I remember the 80s - there were no parenting blogs or peanut allergies, just a whole lotta crazy."
That's the opening narration from THE GOLDBERGS, Patton Oswalt providing the off-camera voice of the adult Adam Goldberg, the youngest of the three kids at the center of ABC's breakout hit from last year. While kids of the 60s eventually had THE WONDER YEARS, and those a decade later getting THAT 70's SHOW, it's only fitting that kids like myself - the ones who grew up in "1980-something" - finally get a series that properly captures our decade. While there have been a few who've tried and failed, THE GOLDBERGS (out this week in a Complete First Season DVD set) is undoubtedly the best we've ever seen.
Next Spring, audiences will be able to return to Arendelle...
Walt Disney Animation Studios has officially announced the new animated short FROZEN FEVER, welcoming back to the big screen Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and, of course, loveable snowman Olaf. Directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, and produced by Peter Del Vecho (read my interview with them here), with an all-new original song by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, FROZEN FEVER reunites the entire Oscar®-winning original team from Disney’s FROZEN.
ABC's THE GOLDBERGS was one of the big surprises for me over the past year - a new comedy that I actually dug, one rooted in the era of my own childhood, the glorious 1980s. The production design is perfect, and the scenarios (and the toys) could've been ripped straight from my own youth (especially... a kid running around with a big-ass VHS video camera). Now, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is issuing the complete first season on DVD, and on September 9, it could be yours for the taking - with all 23 episodes of the series contained within three discs. Lets take a look at the details...
