As I've mentioned before here on The Rock Father, 2012 is the 30th Anniversary of Steven Spielberg's 1982 classic, E.T. THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL. With the film just-released on Blu-Ray for the very first time, Universal Studios has now partnered with Madame Tussauds to immortalize the beloved alien in wax, with an unveiling scheduled for October 22 at six Madame Tussauds locations in Hollywood, London, Berlin, Amsterdam, Sydney, and Tokyo. Check out a preview of the figure below...
Photo: Madame Tussauds' sculptor Dan Woodley puts the finishing touches to the perfect clay sculpture that will be used as a blueprint for the wax figure of the legendary film character E.T.
Families will be able to put themselves in Elliott's place in a recreation of the famous scene in which he and E.T. flew on a BMX bike with the moon as a backdrop.
I still have my DVD of E.T. from when the 20th Anniversary took place ten years ago. In fact, my oldest daughter LOVES the little guy - who is also immortalized in my office via a prop replica (with sound) that sits near my desk.
The 30th Anniversary Edition of E.T. is now available in a variety of configurations from Walmart.com.
