PBS KIDS VIP (Very Involved Parent)It was last May that I first made mention of a Cookie Monster Special that the folks at Sesame Street were cooking up. It was then that I came face-to-face with one of my childhood idols for the very first time, getting to sing a couple verses of "C is For Cookie" with the lovable blue Monster himself.  Today comes word that SESAME STREET: THE COOKIE THIEF will debut on PBS KIDS on February 16, placing Cookie Monster in the wrong place at the wrong time...

“PBS KIDS is thrilled to collaborate with the SESAME STREET team to offer the first-ever Cookie Monster special to families. THE COOKIE THIEF will delight both kids and parents with humor, mystery and ‘cookie’ art.’”Lesli Rotenberg, General Manager, Children’s Media, PBS

Cookie Monster in THE COOKIE THIEF"During the special, a cookie art museum has just opened on Sesame Street. Cookie Monster and his friends feel as if they’re in a whole new world, but when art suddenly starts to disappear, Cookie Monster quickly becomes a suspect. Can Cookie Monster clear his name? Will they find the missing art in time or will Cookie Monster be banished from the museum forever? THE COOKIE THIEF is a fun, action-packed special in which Cookie Monster explores self-regulation concepts – such as impulse control, following directions and managing emotions."

Guest-starring Rachel Dratch of SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE fame, THE COOKIE THIEF will premiere on Monday, February 16 and repeat on the 18th and 20th. Additionally, two new Season 45 Episodes of SESAME STREET will make their debut that same week...
