Watch - Slipknot's fan-filmed "Before I Forget" video (Live at Red Rocks)

Fans on smartphones at concerts are a hot button issue for both artists and fans alike. On one hand, it can be seen as intrusive and taking away from the spontaneity of the live performance, but on the other - it can provide for a captured memory that may live forever on YouTube, and often serve as a snapshot of something historic. While the devices have changed, fan-filmed official videos are not a new thing. Beastie Boys made an entire (excellent) movie by putting cameras into the hands of their fans, and Metallica has been allowing filming since the Snakepit days of the Black Album tour cycle. Now it's Slipknot getting into the action, with an official, crowd-sourced music video. Check out "Before I Forget" Live at Red Rocks below...

He's appeared as a music expert on CNN's AC360 alongside Anderson Cooper, and has been interviewed by Larry King. In the past he served as a writer for the Netflix Stream Team,  Fandango Family and PBS KIDS, penned articles for Sprout and PopSugar, and was a contributor to Chicago Parent.
