JANET DEVLIN has had a busy year - her UK album, RUNNING WITH SCISSORS making its U.S. debut last February, followed by the Fall release of her holiday EP, DECEMBER DAZE, and now DUVET DAZE - all on NYC's OK! Good Records. The latter EP is a covers record that finds Devlin taking on Ed Sheeran's "I See Fire," 10cc's 1975 hit "I'm Not in Love," Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball," and Duran Duran's "Ordinary World" (my personal favorite of the bunch). The wildcard on the record is a Gaelic reworking of her own "Whisky Lullabies" as "Suantraí Meisciúil" - a move inspired by Sheeran's Gaelic version of "Thinking Out Loud." Stream JANET DEVLIN's DUVET DAZE via the Bandcamp Player below, and if you dig it as I do - you can buy it direct, or through all the usual digital outlets. It's also available for streaming on Spotify.

Becoming a parent changes you - and although it's cliche to say that, it's completely true. I'm an example of that, and no matter what your age (I was almost 33 when we had Addie), there's "growing up" involved when it happens for the first time. While I became "The Rock Father" in 2009, this site wasn't here yet, and although everything may have appeared just perfect - the first year was actually pretty hard from an emotional standpoint and some changes in lifestyle and scheduling had to happen. MACKLEMORE is experiencing some of that right now, his daughter born on May 29th - just over two months ago. Today he and Ryan Lewis released a new single as a free download - a single that is for Sloane Ava Simone Haggerty - but also being offered to all of us - music and words that will most certainly resonate with parents. It comes with a note (available here), and the total package has really moved me - his voice sharing wisdom with his little girl, but also trying to find balance between the work he has to do to support his family. Listen to MACKLEMORE & RYAN LEWIS - "Growing Up (Sloane's Song)" featuring ED SHEERAN below...

The Warner Sound continues their string of exclusive ''Live Room'' performances this week with a set from ED SHEERAN, recorded live at Hinge Studios in Chicago. You can check out his Nina Simone cover, "Be My Husband" below, or scroll down for his full performance. Weird sidebar? A lifetime ago (11-12 years or so) I interviewed with Hinge producer/engineer Craig Bauer for an internship. I ended up pursuing film classes at the time instead of audio production.
