Very soon, cameras will begin rolling on Steven Spielberg's big-screen adaptation of Ronald Dahl's 1982 book, THE BFG (Big Friendly Giant), and today comes news that the filmmaker has found his lead. 10-year-old newcomer Ruby Barnhill has been cast as Sophie, the young London girl who embarks on a great adventure in Giant Country.

Sitting down with Producer Jenni Magee-Cook and Director Peggy Holmes at DisneyToon Studios in Glendale, California back in February, there was an overwhelming sense of joy and enthusiasm as they begun discussing the creation of THE PIRATE FAIRY, the latest installment of the Disney Fairies franchise, which hit Blu-ray and DVD this week. "I wanted to tell a story about a girl that makes a mistake," explains Holmes in discussing Zarina, the "Pirate Fairy" herself (voiced by MAD MEN's Christina Hendricks), and a new resident of Pixie Hollow that leads Tinker Bell and friends to a world not previously-explored in the series: Never Land.

"Christian Siriano was a huge influence in the design of Zarina's Pirate Fairy Costume, and it was a wonderful collaboration," explains Character Designer Ritsuko Notani, a Disney vet and longtime member of the Disney Fairies Team, whose credits date back to series' such as DARKWING DUCK and QUACK PACK in the 1990s. "For the first time in the Disney Fairies series, we've been able to show some of the most iconic locations of Never Land," she continues, sharing insight on the creation of both Young Captain Hook, and the new fairy, Zarina, in the new film, THE PIRATE FAIRY (out now on Blu-Ray and DVD).
