MIMOBOT bringing Chewbacca to SDCC for some limited-edition STAR WARS action...

Back in 2005, Mimoco launched at the famed San Diego Comic-Con International. Now, eight years later, the Boston-based makers of cool, pop culture-inspired USB flash drives that are not only functional storage devices, but sought-after collectibles, are returning to SDCC with some rockin' goods. As they continue to unveil eight limited-edition drives to celebrate their birthday, they've announced a new version of that famous Wookiee, CHEWBACCA, as a SDCC '13 Exclusive. But Chewy's not coming alone... he's bringing a Golden Protocol Droid as a friend...

This week's Series 9 reveal is a redesign of the STAR WARS x MIMOBOT Series 1 CHEWBACCA... decked out with a disassembled C-3PO on his back, just as we saw him in THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK after having the misfortune of crossing those pesky Ugnaughts in Cloud City.

While Mimoco hit The Rock Father with word that these will be limited to just 1,000 pieces, they are making a few available on their website prior to Comic-Con. To get in on the action, check 'em out here. Otherwise, you'll have to snag one at the Mimoco Booths in the Toy Grower Section (#5338) or in the Star Wars Pavillion, July 17-21 at Comic-Con International.
