I don't review too many singles here on The Rock Father, and it's probably for the simple fact that there aren't a lot of bands that still release physical singles. For the California trio known as THE HIPWADERS, it's fitting that they do, as their music recalls better days for the music industry - a time when bands would crank out fresh music on a regular basis, serving it up regularly on 7-inch, 45rpm vinyl available only at the neighborhood record store. It's a very 1960s business model.

Australian rockers CIRCLE have just released their mellow cover of the 1992 WRECKX-N-EFFECT (featuring Teddy Riley) single, "Rump Shaker." Sound intriguing? AC/DC is the World’s Perfect Rock Band. It’s a scientifically-proven fact, and if you don’t believe me… well, I bet that there’s a study out there somewhere that can back that up.
Whether scientific or subjective, I do believe that there is not, nor will there ever be a hard rock band with as much “right” as AC/DC.

The jazz classic KIND OF BLUE by MILES DAVIS has been released countless times over the years, but I think this might be the first time that it's been completely reworked with babies in mind. "Closer" is one of my least favorite NINE INCH NAILS songs. I love some NIN, and I saw 'em live way back in '94 when they toured with MARILYN MANSON and THE JIM ROSE CIRCUS. That song, though? ANTHRAX has finally confirmed the details on their long-discussed covers EP, ANTHEMS. Set for release in North America on March 19 (MRI/Megaforce), and on March 22 in Europe (Nuclear Blast), ANTHEMS features 'Thrax'd-up versions of some of the band's favorite songs from the 1970s.
