Earlier this morning, visitors to the ShopDisney website (an affiliate) started seeing an advertisement for something interesting on the "New" page. Disney Store's TOYBOX action figures are touted as making their debut in-store and online on Friday, November 3, 2017. "Get ready to interact with PIXAR, Star Wars and Marvel characters like never before," it says. With no formal announcement yet, what's particularly notable is that the two figures featured are of Rey and a First Order Stormtrooper from Star Wars: The Last Jedi... but that they're styled almost exactly like their video game counterparts where in the long-shuttered Disney Infinity. Here at our house, the figures from that game are still in-use, and just yesterday our youngest daughter was playing with the Star Wars ones. There's a huge appeal in those designs.
As Marvel Studios prepares to unleash THOR: RAGNAROK onto the world, it's time to start looking ahead to the not-so-distant future. While AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR looms large with its April release, it's the February 16, 2018 debut of BLACK PANTHER that has people buzzing right now. After a teaser some months back, the official trailer has just arrived, and it's something you need to check out. See it below!

Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has come home on Digital HD and Blu-ray Combo Pack (out 8/22), and to celebrate the release, we're throwing some big focus onto the music of the Guardians. Filmmaker James Gunn stresses that "music is such an important part of this movie," and that's something carried over from the first film, and even into Disney XD's animated series. Awesome Mix Vol. 1, Awesome Mix Vol. 2 and Cosmic Mix Vol. 1 are all integral pieces of the Guardians experience, with the song selection for the live-action films being hand-picked and written into each screenplay by Gunn. With music in mind, my friends at Disney asked what an "Awesome Mix" would sound like if chosen by The Rock Father™ - a potential soundtrack to my four decades of life. The results of that challenge can be heard in Guardians of the Galaxy 2: The Rock Father's Awesome Mix Tape - an 81-song collection containing over five hours of music available to stream on Spotify. Now we're giving you a chance to add to it, but also a shot at winning a fantastic Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Prize Pack!
Marvel's THE DEFENDERS just made its long-awaited debut, streaming exclusively on Netflix. The combined adventures of Daredevil AKA Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) Iron Fist AKA Danny Rand (Finn Jones) and possibly, eventually The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) [Ed: I haven't had a chance to delve in yet, but I expect him to be there] find the heroes uniting to save New York City. Along with the series comes a soundtrack, and Marvel Music/Hollywood Records have delivered.
It's time for a Guardians Inferno. As Marvel Studios' GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 heads home this month, today comes the music video for the 1970's MECO-inspired "Guardians Inferno," performed by The Sneepers featuring David Hasselhoff. Quite simply, it's the the finest 1970's Disco music video to not have been shot in the 1970's, and believe it or not - I've seen quite a few. Check out the glorious action (which features much of the Guardians cast, alongside filmmaker James Gunn and Stan Lee) below!
