Netflix Stream TeamAhhh yes, the end of July. As many of you know, the annual Comic-Con International just wrapped-up in San Diego this past weekend, bringing together the best in pop culture fandom under one roof. While I was not there, I still covered some of the news here on THE ROCK FATHER, all while intently keeping an eye on all things super - because, at the end of the day, it's still Comic-Con, and while it's everything entertainment at this point, the event has a history rooted in the panels of comic books. With that in mind, I'm putting a post-SDCC spin on my Netflix #StreamTeam column this month, highlighting some comic-based, heroic content for you to enjoy with the family on nearly any device.

MARVEL's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY doesn't hit theaters for another week, but that's not stopping a bold announcement - On July 28, 2017, Walt Disney Pictures will release it's sequel. Filmmaker James Gunn and star Chris Pratt dropped the news earlier today at Comic-Con International in San Diego. I have some high hopes for the film (had to pass on an advance screening), and the confidence of the studio just solidifies that. Check out more details on the upcoming GUARDIANS below, and check back later this week for a look at Hasbro's new line of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY toys, right here on THE ROCK FATHER.

When it comes to video gaming, I still have not yet entered the "Next Generation," which is technically already here. I've also not yet played DISNEY INFINITY, despite covering news on it for over a year at this point - but the upcoming release of DISNEY INFINITY: MARVEL SUPER HEROES (2.0 Edition) just might be the push I need. But then there's conflict since I've long been a loyalist to the Microsoft XBOX 360, but Sony's PS4 is looking more and more appealing with the news that landed here at Rock Father HQ this evening: Disney and Sony have teamed up for a Collector's Edition for both PS4 and PS3, and a hardware bundle for the PS3 (not sure why they wouldn't go PS4 on that, though). Check out the trailer and specs...

One of my most-anticipated films of the fourth quarter is Walt Disney Animation Studios' first foray into the MARVEL World with BIG HERO 6. Having seen a hallway that was teasing, yet being quite protective of the film during my February visit to the studios, my interest is piqued, and tonight I've got the first full trailer, and your first look at character profiles and the voice cast reveal, right here on THE ROCK FATHER. The trailer is pretty rockin', and it's even got Chicago's own FALL OUT BOY lending a tune...
