It's a fascinating story, and one that's baffled many throughout the years - what happened to the two original Ford Mustangs GT Fastbacks used in the filming of Steve McQueen's 1968 film, BULLITT? Many thought that at least one of them met with the crusher, and the fate of the other was more murky, with many claiming to have had it over the years. But in 2017, the truth was revealed that both still existed, but the most iconic of the two was the hero car, and now it's back. To help launch the 2019 Ford Mustang  BULLITT, the original car was brought together with it's modern counterpart, but there's a hell of a story about to be told...

At the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Lexus just unveiled their latest concept - the Lexus LF-1 Limitless. Here's the official announcement that just came into Rock Father HQ this morning along with a just-released launch video...

"Like molten metal being forged into a fine Japanese sword, the lines of the Lexus LF-1 Limitless concept have the potential to shape the future of a flagship luxury crossover for Lexus."

Transforming vehicles are hardly a new thing, nor are the kinds of things that said vehicles change into. From sentient humanoid robots to insects and animalistic beasts, we've seen a lot of transformations over the past 30+ years, but now there's a new entry into that realm that's putting some new twists on things. From Alpha Group (formerly Auldey Toys US) comes SCREECHERS WILD!, a new collection of vehicles that transform into creatures using "explosive 360-degree flip morphing action." They're definitely hitting on the retro marks with the launch, presenting a commercial that feels straight outta the 80s with its neon-grid patterns and action-packed visuals. They call it "fuel-injected feeding time" as the vehicles either pick up (or have launched to them) a plastic disc ("food") that activates the flip transformation. Take a look...

Mountain Dew Adds MTN DEW ICE to the Lineup...

Those who know me well know that my favorite beverage is Diet Mountain Dew. In fact, I distinctly remember the first time I was asked to provide a "rider" for a creative job I was doing back in 2006, and they said it was the simplest thing they'd ever seen. I asked for a flight, a hotel room, and a case of Diet Mountain Dew. While it's Diet that I prefer, I also make a point of trying every new flavor and variety that Dew rolls out, and this week comes news that Mountain Dew is introducing MTN DEW ICE, what they're calling "a crisp, clear, carbonated soft drink made with a splash of real juice that will keep Dew Nation charged and refreshed."

Auto Show season is upon us, with the big ones about to start rolling out here in North America this month, with #NAIAS in Detroit, followed by the Chicago International Auto Show in February. Up North, the Canadian International AutoShow rolls into the downtown Metro Toronto Convention Centre from Feb. 16-25, and this year Mattel is bringing Hot Wheels into the action! The number one selling toy in the world races into Canada with an explosion of activities to commemorate its 50th anniversary. This includes appearances by some of the iconic full-sized rides from the Hot Wheels garage, including the famed Star Wars Darth Vader character car and the Special Edition 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS!
