The 2011 Holiday Shopping Season is officially underway for Toys "R" Us, as the company invited shoppers to''Join Geoffrey for the Ultimate Kick Off to Christmas'' at it's stores yesterday afternoon. As we did for Geoffrey the Giraffe's Birthday Celebration back in September, we made it a family affair and headed out to the local TRU store so that the little one could meet Geoffrey once more, and we'd set her up for a Holiday Wish List - for which TRU had pledged to donate $1 for every list created to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
THE MUPPETS are on the verge of hitting theater screens after a long absence, and if you've been keeping your eyes on the small screen, then you've already noticed Kermit, Miss Piggy, and the gang popping up for product tie-ins. THE MUPPETS have a long history of doing commercials, one that pre-dates Sesame Street and The Muppet Show by many years. While the folks over at Muppet Wiki have a shockingly extensive list of commercials that THE MUPPETS have been involved with, this one is a personal favorite, so I'm sharing it here on The Rock Father™.
Canadian comedian JON LaJOIE has improved over the years, especially as evident in a recent that hit the 'net back in August. While it's been floating around since 2008 and has over 4 million (!) views on YouTube, this low-budget video called ''Stay At Home Dad'' just hit my radar this week. At first, my daughter actually thought it was me in the video - long hair (I used to have it), unshaven, with a stocking hat and sunglasses. It fits my description at times for sure, and as for being a stay-at-home Dad - it gets a lot right. Check out the Rage Against the Machine-inspired ode to parenting below.
There's plenty of reasons why you should check out THE GREATEST CHRISTMAS EVER, the new children's book from author Sergio Liden and illustrator Francesco Orazzini. We'll start with the simple facts that it's bothgood and FREE, but this new holiday tale is also timely, and is being provided to you and your family with the hope that you'll be able to donate a small amount to the National Coalition for the Homeless. Originally intended to be published for the 2011 holidays with a portion of proceeds set aside for the charity, 2 DADS PUBLISHING (Liden along with Zachary Zemby) switched gears to make the book available to as many people as possible, and here's why - in their own words:
In 1984, Parker Brothers Music released A CABBAGE PATCH CHRISTMAS, a follow-up to their best-selling CABBAGE PATCH DREAMS. My sister and I had both of these records (on vinyl), as we both had some CABBAGE PATCH KIDS (mine in a Chicago White Sox uniform) as well. I was around 8 at the time, and here I sit almost 30 years later and those songs are still floating around in my head.
Earlier this month I told you about the crew at Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star and their plans to releaseLullaby Versions of Twilight Breaking Dawn.
